AnonD-940827, 04 Oct 2020It was not a Google phone. But yes, best alternative with stable and clean Android. Yeah I guess that was the point of the article.

My Nexus 4 is running Android 10 very smoothly, I installed it via Carbon Rom.

Viva Nexus 5, 04 Oct 2020Still using my Nexus 5 until today, Nexus 5 still the best flagship ever. Qi Charge, 3.5mm hea... moreI bought one for like $17 online but I hate how cheap and greasy the body feels. Maybe I will also buy the Nexus 4 some time in the future, when I find one for cheap.

Compared to other flagships today the Pixel 5 is priced appropriately. Nexus 4 was priced low in that time.

Idk why people ignore the fact that processing has come a long way and today's midrange chips can go head to head with any flagship chips(except the apple bionic chips ofcourse) from 2yrs ago

A few of the Nexus phones had some serious janky and with the final two by Huawei and LG, Google decided they should procure a successor which only ever perpetuate the hardware and software issues every Nexus had a variation of. To this day, Google continues to sell overpriced prototypes with little actual improvements between each generation. As someone who despises Apple, Google really did cash in on the obsolescence factor of the iPhone 4S and iPhone 6 but stretched it out with added "goodies" such as each update hindering the camera performance.

People are so easy to forget the details, yes it was cheap and powerful but the battery was bad, the screen wasnt that great (poor quality panel, shitty viewing angles and washed out compared to other flagships of the same year), the camera was barely passable, washed out noisy pictures and forget about low light. These were the compromises that Google didn't do with the pixel 5, you'll notice the chipset less than you would have noticed these things back in the day with the nexus 4, the pixel is a better compromise.

These observations were from living with the nexus, the galaxy S3 and htc one X at that time.

Well, iphone and most of the phones used to cost half with flagship chipset. It's a major corporate game played by these companies into making consumers pay more.
