While the features of the chipset looks pretty solid, the main question still remains as to how will Qualcomm prices it and if it will be affordable which is mostly not the case with Snapdragon chipsets.

Anonymous, 22 Sep 2020You can get the Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite for around 240 euro, with an SD 765G SoC. You can get the Xiaomi Redmi 10X for around 240 euro, with a Dimensity 820 SoC.

240 is still too much for the trash 765G.

The rumored SD775 doesn't appear to be forthcoming any time soon. For those looking for a new mid-ranger 5G phone based on Qualcomm chips, SD750G will be the choice of SoC for now.

One the other hand, the new premium non-flagship 5G phones based on the forthcoming new MediaTek chip (D1100, positioned as a mid-ranger SoC, but rumored to be more powerful than SD865+) will be ready as early as November.

At this point, we can only imagine what a beast the next generation MediaTek flagship SoC (Dimensity 2000) will be.

SD750G is on its way to become the choice of SoC from Qualcomm for low-middle 5G phones, replacing both SD690G and SD765G. SD750G is priced lower than SD765G, but performs slightly better, per early benchmark results. SD690G will be ditched by the phone-makers because it doesn't support NSA/SA dual-mode 5G, which is unacceptable per 2020 Standard. (Only OnePlus has used SD690G for a 5G phone for the US market at the specific request of a US carrier.) SD768G is not being produced in quantity and is not in demand from phone-makers.

The volume mover in the 5G space will still be MediaTek Dimensity SoCs, mostly D720, D800U, D1000+, and at least two more upcoming new Dimensity chips.

Anonymous, 22 Sep 2020You can get the Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite for around 240 euro, with an SD 765G SoC. Or you could get a $280 SD855 equipped phone. The 765G belongs in $200 phones not anything above $250. We're nearing 2021. This is ridiculous. The Dimensity 820 exists for a reason.

You wouldn't hear those athletes (who mostly stick to athlete-related games, by the way) go on and on about game in every PC (not gaming PCs) tech blog like most commenters from a certain large Asian country do here on phone (not "gaming" phone) articles, like that's all they do. And I didn't generalize – I said hardly, which left room for exceptions.

So basically now, we have three sub-tier for Qualcomm's midrange 5G chipset? My, this is utterly confusing! I literally don't see any reason for this chipset to exist in the first place. You either use the 690 for lower midrange 5G smartphones and 765G for premium upper midrange 5G smartphones, that's it.
