"Weirdly enough the new A53 will share its name with a different Oppo phone that saw the light of day in 2015. Apparently the company thinks five years is enough time that no one would be confused by such a move."
I'd say Oppo releases so many phones that even they don't remember all of them. This looks like another such a pointless phone which gets only released to flood the market, so much that I'd be willing to believe it was put together by a group of internists on a short deadline that they didn't even check if the name was taken, lol.

90Hz on SD460? Isn't SD665 used in A52 better? Why the downgrade? And if OEMs use a higher res depth sensor will it give better portraits?

Low end processor. For Oppo chooser, better find Oppo phones that support minimal VOOC 20W charger, such as Oppo F9, Oppo F11 Pro, Oppo K3, Oppo Reno series. Old products are fine, but spec and fast charging are better.
