Also plenty of apps support the large screen natively + it runs Ubuntu (my tab anyway, does). Most tabs are useless, though, I agree. All that screen estate and almost zero uses. I would expect by mid 10s already to start becoming useful, but they did not. Only Smasung tried something in '18 (Linux on Dex) but then they gave up.
Apple does not even tries (no Mac level apps yet) , the rest do not produce tabs.
Tablet is the best form factor, it is only betrayed by the lack of support... hopefully it comes soon (from apple, at least, given that they migrate their app ecosystem to arm). Better late than never.

After it their tabs are toys too. (Tab S5 would run a real pro OS in a container, i.e. Ubuntu 16 or 18 with the more recent updates).
Can't see the point of an ipad btw. If you need any work at all (to be done) you need a laptop. What's the point of large screened device if you can't use it productively?
Apple should start migrating their Mac Apps already. Without them the ipad is severely limited. Who buys that stuff?

My sister's Samsung Galaxy Tab A (8.0) 2015 was shipped with 5.0 Lollipop, but now already updated to 7.1.1 Nougat. As for the apps, I can agree with you. Most of them are just oversized from the one made for smartphone.
I prefer iPad over any android tablets... For one big reason... iPad has a Lot of great Apps especially for aspiring artist like me... Like Procreate, Full version of Photoshop and Ilustrator and Affinity Designer ... There's also a lot of drawing/graphic design apps on android... However it is not on par with what iPad is offering...
This is only my opinion 🙂
it's not worth to buy an Android Tablet. You get security update only every 3 months (if you are lucky), and only 1 major firmware upgrade throughout the ownership. All the apps and games are just the scale up version of mobile apps.
With the iPads bending like crazy, was choosing to go for a Samsung but now I see updates and leaks of a Tab S7 (or 20 whatever it will be called). If it doesn't bend easily I'll probably save up for it.
Choice of Bad SoC continues... it's like they have two bad SoCs at both spectrum and no matter what samsung will rub them everywhere they like deaf n blind.
I wait for Tab S8 which will come in December .
i hope it will have 8 inch option.
That massive battery tho...
Price going to so high..
