Todays phones cost 1400e. It was the trend Apple invented. Then soon Samsung followed. Today top Android phone from Samsung costs 1400e. Then other OEM's started to follow this trend in a wierd way. Remember OnePlus. The company who sold killer phones for 300$. They are now at 900$. Every other OEM is following this trend. OEM's assume that everybody will pay 1000$ for a new phone becuase they are something special and that it justifes the price because its not yesterday its todays "special" technology. Well they can assume that phone can cost 2000$ as well as a new baseline. And you will see how this backfires on every OEM out there. I would pay 2000$. But that phone will have holographic projector, teleportation and plenty of other stuff. This trend will die when demand decreases. Because people are not stupid to buy phones at 2000$.

We already had that same AMOLED screen, with the same kind of fingerprint reader, what was the top SoC (SD855), and much of the same chassis -- all at about 400 Euros. The new pricing is an over 50% increase versus the actual model it is replacing.
The value proposition is way off once you realize the K20 pro/Mi 9T pro existed.
Anonymous, 05 May 2020really? oneplus z probably is coming with mediatek....i wouldn't recommend this but as you wishNah it's rumored to come with snapdragon 765 https://www.gsmarena.com/oneplus_z_is_now_rumored_to_pack_the_snapdragon_765_chipset-news-42987.php so yeah..(also it will release in July)
zeeshu007, 06 May 2020The Main Idea of Poco Brand Marketing and Success was "Flagship Killer" at $300 or $330 price ... moreFirst Resmi used price tag to increase their brand value.
Now they are using brand value to increase the price tag.
I think $399 would be a fair price & make it 4G only to achieve that price point.
All those people who comment this is expensive, please show the official launching price before saying it is expensive.
Then, who calling this expensive when compare to Poco F1, please check the specs again. It got AMOLED screen, bigger battery, better build quality, better processor.
Complain no Micro SD slot? I think only brand like Samsung still maintain that, other brand already skip this feature for flagship smartphone.
Currently, the cheapest SD865 smartphone available in my country actually is Xiaomi Black Shark 3, Nubia Red Magic 5G, Oneplus 8, Xiaomi Mi10, all are close to €599.
That doesn't means the euro price for these model will be this low, which actually can be higher. And these are official launching price with Global ROM, not grey import from China with China ROM.
All in all, you can't make direct comparison with older smartphone.
The Main Idea of Poco Brand Marketing and Success was "Flagship Killer" at $300 or $330 price tag.
You should continue the brand essence with similar price tags for its successor, not double the price tag and use the Poco brand name. It's shame for Xiaomi, as it is getting greedier these days. See the price tag of Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro. Xiaomi is going on wrong direction now, as it is not customer and price friendly anymore. Thumbs Down.
600e as a pocophone and maybe plastic as well. I think i'll skip 865 all togehter. To much greedy OEM's. The hierarchy Xiaomi 800 Redmi 650 Pocophone 600. Thx but no tnx. Will wait for better times, competitive prices and new flagship OEM's. 855 is still good.
Anonymous, 05 May 2020I was waiting for the Mi 9t Pro successor; now replaced as Poco F2 pro.....but at these prices... moreHey. Why would you switch a perfectly fine Mi 9T Pro for an A51? The phone you got is way more powerful, both compared to SD765 and what the A51 has.
Anonymous, 05 May 2020really? oneplus z probably is coming with mediatek....i wouldn't recommend this but as you wishFollowing price tendencies, OnePlus Z is coming at 500 eu.

Sid, 05 May 2020This is really baffling considering what exyno offers hardware wise. G90t has only 4 g76 core ... morewell the good thing is at least they have a deal with amd for rdna 2 based mobile graphics(hopefully things do improve with it)

Anonymous, 05 May 2020I was waiting for the Mi 9t Pro successor; now replaced as Poco F2 pro.....but at these prices... moreDude.dobt go for a51.go for lg g8 of lg v50 series.you will literally get s10/s10 plus but with different badging.from cameras to perfromance to build.everything is equal on both these phones.it is just that s10 is better in display.while lg g8 is better in performance due to optimization
This phone is a poco late, a poco expensive and in my opinion a poco unattractive. How long will this young brand survive?
IpsDisplay, 05 May 2020Well done probably the best straw man I've ever seen in history
Live in your bubble tho if ... moreSure, let us just ignore the very significant reasons why no one should buy a thing from Merdiatek, and just defer to personal attacks. I already said it, but I'll say it again: it's the lesser of two evils.
I kind of prefer a monopoly based on merit rather than allowing a monopoly based on cheating. "People who steal, cheat, don't support their products, take all shortcuts, and ignore all sorts of licenses can sell cheap" -- you're arguing that like it's such a huge positive! Qualcomm is making a killing not because people "love them", but rather because every other "competitor" isn't anywhere near the same league (e.g., support, community engagement, and innovation). And no, performance alone does not make up for stealing and cheating.
I was waiting for the Mi 9t Pro successor; now replaced as Poco F2 pro.....but at these prices I just gave up waiting!
I am just about to buy myself a Samsung A51 5G, I am not a gamer so mid tiered chip-set equivalent of SD-765G is perfectly fine....I am tired of waiting for a a global release of K30 Pro at fair prices definitely not paying 2x the price over the China version of same unit!
Pls no more excuses Xiaomi; given the chinese version uses same chipset SD865 selling at US$425; at 20% increase is about fair; but what justification for ~$650 USD??
People should just boycott it IMO, Xiaomi destroyed hopes of the Legendary K20 Pro/Mi 9t Pro fans; and replaced with this the true Flag ship killer with this pretend wannabe.

Live in your bubble tho if ... morei added example for 865.
who mentioned 765?
and where you are getting these information " qualcomm was forced to lower the cost of its 765 by a massive 30%"?
link please!
if we have healthy competition, i dont have anything against that.
but tnx, no tnx, i am not buying phone with mediatek SoC, you can use it in your bubble.
and SW support cannot be compared between these two SoCs
No one wants a plasticky phone that bends way too easily then snaps into half.
