I think. For example, since the RN9 Pro and Pro Max in India have NaviC support, there is no point having that same 'GPS' function in the global market. Also, they sell ads and they have to tailor these ads to specific regions and the preinstalled apps as well for those regions. Look at the Note 8 and Note 8T, the global version doesn't have NFC but the EU version (8T) does and this is because most of the target audience for the Note 8 won't need NFC but it's a must have in the EU...it goes on forever.
I'd say you should just purchase the global versions available in your country and pay no mind to their smartphone naming scheme. Or buy a local brand to avoid confusion. Lol

Following the Geekbench scores thoses 2 A75 cores on the G70 and G80 are much better in terms of CPU performance compared to the 4 A73 cores on the 665. MediaTek did a G70 vs SD 665 on YouTube. Humour yourself a bit and watch it.

Xiaomi's model range is now so confusing I don't know what's what any more. Why do they use difference names for the same phones in different countries? Why not just use one name globally?
Any why make slightly different versions of the same phone for difference countries (e.g. NFC removed)? Why not just have one version that they sell across the world?
Their model range is a complete mess and I can't be bothered trying to keep up any more. I was planning to upgrade my Redmi Note 7 this generation, but I don't think I'll bother.

Anonymous, 28 Apr 2020Let's see how will this chipset competes with sd665. "Sports mode" benchmark cheating. Lol. Given that the G80 scores about 205k on Antutu, the G80 scores 190k, I'd presume the G85 to settle at around 230k on Antutu.
The G80 and G70 only have a 100Mhz difference in GPU and CPU base clock, so the G85 might carry 2 Cortex A76 cores and keep the MaliG2, probably with 4 more cores and same 1000Mhz frequency.
Just speculating. The Note 9 should be unveiled by Thursday.
