HAQ, 15 Feb 2020never seen app much better and faster than whatsapp, if anyone could suggest otherwisewait until they decided to bring ads or merge messenger with it, it wont be simple anymore. I like telegram.

Also, if you are used to wh... moreit's obvious you don't know anything about Telegram if you want secure messaging app "Signal" is the best thing you can get it's free, open source and has all the feature that you'll ever need like video call.

Hilmawan, 13 Feb 2020Telegram is not even that good when it comes to privacy Yes it is, read about differences between whatsapp and telegram.
Also, if you are used to whatsapp, switching to telegram is easy. Looks the same on the surface.
But, getting your friends to switch to this app is almost impossible. At least it was like this in my case.
Had to return to whatsapp, after just 2-3 months of using telegram.

YUKI93, 13 Feb 2020Convince me about that. I read and hear very little about Telegram's privacy issues.1. The encryption doesn't turned on by default and many people who use Telegram aren’t aware of this which defeats the purpose of the app.
2. Telegram encryption protocol is also flawed. It was developed by an in-house team with little experience in crypto, which isn’t advised by cybersecurity experts.
3. The app isn’t open source either, so the code hasn’t been audited by any third parties.
4. The company also doesn’t provide any transparency reports.
In December 2015, two researchers from Aarhus University published a report in which they demonstrated that MTProto does not achieve indistinguishability under chosen-ciphertext attack (IND-CCA) or authenticated encryption.[124] The researchers stressed that the attack was of a theoretical nature and they "did not see any way of turning the attack into a full plaintext-recovery attack". Nevertheless, they said they saw "no reason why [Telegram] should use a less secure encryption scheme when more secure (and at least as efficient) solutions exist".
In April 2016, accounts of several Russian opposition members were hijacked by intercepting the SMS messages used for login authorization.
In June 9, 2019, The Intercept released leaked Telegram messages exchanged between current Brazilian Minister of Justice and former judge Sérgio Moro and federal prosecutors.
In December 2019 media wrote about a numerous Telegram account takeovers of Russian businessmen that involved bypass of SMS second factor authentication.
You gotta be !gnorant if you think that Telegram is secure.

Anonymous, 13 Feb 2020I wish there was an equally popular messaging service that wasn't owned my Dork Suckerberg.It is, it's called Telegram. Sadly in my case, if non of your whatsapp contacts want to join, then you have the app for nothing.
Of course I needed to go back to Whatsapp after just couple of months.
P.S. I don't have any other social app (except 9gag and whatsapp).
