I Just bought the Mate 30 pro and sideloaded Google apps. This is the best Phone ever! Grab a pindrive, an OTG adaptor and do it too. It's pretty straightforward.

In essence, I'm assuming that the only reason to why the google apps crash after sideloading is because google play services is missing, it is essential for all Google apps to function.
If that could be installed on the device then there could be hope for the Huawei Mate 30 Pro.

        I stand to be corrected.

Many of you guys are just talking off the topic. Some says they rooted and installed GSM, some says I use banking apps (may be his/her bank), some says don't use social media, some says i only need Netflix and Hulu and bla bla only etc. But my all dear friends we are talking in general and they wrote this article saying in a week of use they were tired (obviously not committed directly) and you can not see android phone without GSM.

id say that you can do it if social media isnt your thing. but if it is its possible.

the draw back is if you use google services and have dedicated the time to use their services then that will be an issue.

side loading wil make up for it but id dare say LineageOS will play a massive roll in this handset sooner or later.

I'd only consider this if we could unlock the bootloader then nuke and pave it to a proper Android custom ROM. Hell Huawei could even gain more positive results if they let this happen w/ dev edition Mate 30 Pros.

Plus I'd rather trust other Linux based mobile OSes than Harmony OS. Not because of prejudice, but it's just clutter than stretches the landscape too much.

So doesn't matter, it's incredibly smooth. Have been using it as a gallery app for years. I remember how smooth it used to be compared to stock gallery apps on phones with less than 1gb RAM.

Never in history has a government (US) going after a business (Huawei) like this. Worst, all US has are accusations and no hard evidence, not to mention the accusations are weak at best.
US is a bully and US is doing this only because US can get away with it. Shameless hypocrites.

It's already 2020 and you expect people to jump through hoops to use a smartphone. Do better gsmarena. Your bias with Huawei phones are reeking a mile away.
