I think somebody along the chain mixed something up. This rumour sounds an awful lot like an iPhone 12 5.4 inch rumour rather than an iPhone 9 rumour

Well everyone have their own preference but you that phone have A13 chipset bruh.
Noons, 21 Jan 2020I’ve only got an iPhone 6s it’s in immaculate condition, but I would love a new phone but they... morearound 399-499$ i believe
Krishna, 22 Jan 2020Do iphone 9 has face idYes, they removed touch id and add face id for authentication section
Do iphone 9 has face id
I’ve only got an iPhone 6s it’s in immaculate condition, but I would love a new phone but they are so expensive hope this IPhone 9 comes cheaper
stryx, 14 Jan 2020If price will not exceed 300$ definitely would buy.Sorry mate, wrong article.
Seriously, why Face ID? Face unlock is a total joke compared to fingerprint scanning and well-constructed password.
can you pixel-nerds just get a room?
stryx, 14 Jan 2020If price will not exceed 300$ definitely would buy.800$........just get your money
Anonymous, 17 Jan 2020As I said, anyone can see the difference between the 8 Plus's display and the 8's display. But... moredid you even read what I wrote before replying? I wrote that its clearly visible from 12-22 inch distance.
''why don't you ask yourself if you don't see it from the same distance as others do?''
the most important is the battery
Honestly, this had me at "cheaper and more compact offering"
MAKE THIS HAPPEN! :D
I'd rather have TouchID.
I'm still using an iPhone 7 - it works fine. But I don't like the FaceID and it is one of the reasons why I haven't upgraded to a newer phone (X or later).
Alternatively they could have both TouchID and FaceID so I could choose.
The other reason why I haven't upgraded is because of the size of the newer phones. The size of the iPhone 7/8 is enough.
I don't care for a bigger screen. For me the form factor and screen ratio/size is just fine the way it is on the iPhone 7 & 8 (non Plus) In fact, I'd rather a have smaller phone. I don't like carrying around bricks. If they bought out a newer SE sized phone (or something smaller than iPhone 7/8) then I'd choose that.
I'll wait and see how this iPhone 9 pans out but maybe my next phone will be a iPhone 8 instead.
Kriegsherr, 16 Jan 2020what b$ are you trying to spread? a 8plus's display is sharper that 8's and it can be seen pre... moreAs I said, anyone can see the difference between the 8 Plus's display and the 8's display. But that's from around 10 inches or closer to the screen, which is not a real world scenario.
1 Pixel on a RGB IPS LCD contains 3 subpixels (R,G,B)
1 Pixel on a Pentile AMOLED contains 2 subpixels only (2 out of R,G or B)
The result of that is, that in an 4p x 4p array of an LCD screens there are 16 pixels * 3 subpixels = 48 subpixels
In the same array; an AMOLED screen contains only 16 pixels * 2 subpixels = 32 Subpixels
This means that the total count of Subpixels (Which makes for the sharpness of the screen) of the Amoled is only 2/3 of the count of the LCD.
This is obviously very noticeable.
Anonymous, 16 Jan 2020What two LCD displays are you comparing? From a normal viewing distance (12-22 inches / 30-55 ... moresorry for the typo (missing Max)
For the iPhone XS Max/11 pro max, the 2688x1242 screen size is 6.5", or 5.90 x 2.72 inches = 16.048 inches squared.
For the iPhone XS Max/11 pro max, there are 2x2688x1242 = 6676992 subpixels, or 416064 subpixels per square inch.
Anonymous, 16 Jan 2020What two LCD displays are you comparing? From a normal viewing distance (12-22 inches / 30-55 ... morewhat b$ are you trying to spread? a 8plus's display is sharper that 8's and it can be seen pretty clearly. come on, stop posting stupd argument and go to an eye specialist.
and about pixel arrangement you are wrong. LCD's has 3 subpixels vs OLED's 2. so if you are counting the total number of subpixels then you would get the final calculation. so I am now writing the calculation for your understanding.
For the iPhone 8 Plus, the 1920x1080 screen size is 5.5", or 4.79 x 2.70 inches = 12.933 inches squared.
For the iPhone XS Max/11 pro, the 2688x1242 screen size is 6.5", or 5.90 x 2.72 inches = 16.048 inches squared.
For the iPhone XR/11, the 1792x828 screen is 6.1", or 5.54 x 2.56 inches = 14.18 inches squared.
For the iPhone 8 Plus, there are 3x1920x1080 = 6220800 subpixels, or 481002 subpixels per square inch.
For the iPhone XS Max/11 pro, there are 2x2688x1242 = 6676992 subpixels, or 416064 subpixels per square inch.
For the iPhone XR/11, there are 3x1792x828 = 4451328 subpixels, or 313916 subpixels per square inch.
If we are to set a standard for pixel density with the iPhone 8 Plus as equal too 100%, it would be as follows:
100% - iPhone 8 Plus
86% - iPhone XS Max/11 pro
65% - iPhone XR/11
so where did you get this 50% less pixels?
but there is more to it. in Samsung OLEDs can borrow a subpixel from a neighboring one so it can show all three colors. so anyway you count it, 326ppi is the worst of these bunch.

Kriegsherr, 15 Jan 2020what do you mean by close enough? form normal distance (12-22 as you wrote) its quite visible ... moreWhat two LCD displays are you comparing? From a normal viewing distance (12-22 inches / 30-55 cm) you would not notice a difference in sharpness between, say, an iPhone 8 (326ppi LCD) and an iPhone 8 Plus (401ppi).
As for comparing LCD to OLED, indeed OLED needs 50% higher ppi to achieve the same sharpness of LCD. That is due to pen-tile display pixel arrangement. So a 450ppi OLED/AMOLED display offers similar sharpness and fine details as a 300ppi LCD. This is just basic math.
This is really good, I love this content also visit thin iphone x case. Thanks for sharing.
