Yes apple have done few things better but still they are not the best except SoC scores. Top notch camera still not the best, their phones can last till 4 meters is not big deal for others to increase the limit to 10 meters if they want but it isn't that necessary to make. Because I've never been in water with my phone (silly kid's job) but splash in water. Some native apps (or made as native in past) works extremely better on iOS because of well optimization but rest of most apps do work better in android in recent years, only Apple is mainly dealing with faceID tech, others have gone ahead and dealing with in display fingerprint tech, even that the Iris scanner of Nokia and Samsung was the best secured biometric security system as no can make or copy your eyes inside..
I don't know about Apple, but I can ensure you that Asian thought the idea of one side mirror base indisplay camera before anyone.. They'll upgraded it massively than Apple for sure.

Bring back bezels, top and bottom, large enough but not bigger than actually needed, for a good front facing camera and all necessary sensors and good front facing stereo speakers!

I couldn't give a monkeys about selfies, never use them, wish they could make phones for us people and knock 100 £/$/€ off the price.

Exciting for spy shots I guess, best would be just removed it entirely or hide it in a frame, this is not a good solution to hide it under display

IP69K is certified if it survived and still work from water pressure like a Fire Hose if I recall correctly. IP67 - IP68 is all about how deep the phone can still work underwater without water seeping inside. It can be useful for people who lost their iPhones on their nature date like rowing the boat through the rivers then someone found a phone that has been submerged for a year and it still work.

If apple phone lasted 4 meters under water, it'd ip69 or something,not 68. As long as device complies with requisite norms for rating, submersion in water does not matter. It's not a damn submarine

It is cheaper, cleaner and most important, IT WORKS FINE, this zero bezels al around is just plain silly and dumb, makes the user hold the phone in uncomfortable manners, more to it when in landscape, that's it

Since then, their cameras are balanced and topnotch, their IP68 can last till 4 meters while the rest are stuck at 1.5m to 2m, software calibrations are the best overall, FaceID being better than conventional 2D face scanners and Samsung's Iris scanners, etc.
Now that Oppo showed that tech off, Apple can do it better without compromising the resolution of the entire display. Transparent OLEDs are like One-Way mirrors where you're watching the content, the other side is blank and visible to see what's behind.

We will soon want "solid like" holographic screens like those Sci-Fi media like Star Trek and Star Wars.
Side Topic, the camera should be in the middle of the display so we can fix the problem of where we look for the selfie. Should we be looking at the camera or the display?

THIS needs to happen as fast as possible.
Down with the damned unsightly notches/cut-outs/punch-holes/sliders/pop-ups and all the workarounds and beating 'round the bushes.
