If you only knew what a hustle is it to deal with business in less developed countries. Media are picturing this tradewar as some dickmove from US (which it is), but you forgets that this is the way another countries do it all the time. Especially china. Imagine you have company like Skype operating in china for years, many companies rely on their services, and one morning you just cant sing into skype and it is over, with no explanation whatsoever, no legal documents, no public announcement ... nothing, it worked yesterday and it will not work from today, thats it, now deal with it. Your business partner can sue you and win the case in court without even notice you, unless you get the court order. Just one morning you get the mail that you lost a case in court. And deal with it. Countries where there is no privacy BY LAW, where you HAVE to do things by corruption to make it done, there is no other way, you CANT win a lawsuit against local businessman no matter what (unless you have better "contacts" than he has), there is no such thing as intellectual property, etc... how is that more predictable than the "west"? Where law actually works, at least to some degree. If you have a company in US and you are being bullied, you can sue them in court. In china or even russia it just doesnt work that way, that is the reason why so many tech companies are now moving out of china to vietnam, india, thailand. Because you cant lose all fo your business overnight with no warning (or reason really)

whether the product is good or not, one problem is whether is actually cost efficient?
surely making your own seems to be cheaper than buying one.
But factor like, Mass production, research, sales based on actual chip performance result, and after sales service like app compability cost quite a lot of money.
Samsung decided its not worth it and focuses on the production side of things. They manufacture Snapdragons but let Snapdragon handle the rest of the cost which seems to be cheaper in the long run.
BBK might think that Oppo, Vivo, RealMe, and One plus could use their own Oppo m1 chip but whether the move actually cost efficient or affect the sales basically worth it is still highly questionable.

Terrible. One of the few phonemakers that actually has potential to make decent designs - falling for the foolish trap of in-house design cost-savings that leads to lack of features/support and badly aging performance. Oppo, you're no apple. Get real. Snapdragon is an excellent platform with excellent features.
