What's obvious then is that the HMX will skip lines or pre-bin when doing video(the "creator mode" or whatnot), and there will not be some sort of hybrid zoom at magnifications between the HMX and the 48MP, because the ISP of the 990 only supports max. 108MP readout, which will not allow the main to be read out alongside the auxiliary sensors.
Shame.

It's likely that the Exynos 9830 is in fact the 990. It seems like 990 is just the renamed version. I would be very surprised if Samsung have two high end SoC's with custom cores.

I won't stoop down to have a personal quarrel as I think that isn't productive or worth my time. And I will continue to behave the way I see fit: tech enthusiast.
Second comment; you have anecdotal evidence about Apple's history when it comes to bugs, efficiency, and optimisation. And you've thrown in a few excuses in there as well. All I can say is that it is not accurate, and other sources will corroborate this. Since you do not believe in the optimisation or performance of their devices, only third-party facts can persuade you of the point I was making.

Third comment; again you disagree with me.
The only reason the S4 Exynos was slightly superior to the Snapdragon 600, was because the QSD 600 had both low-frequency and throttling issues. This was fixed with the QSD 800 and 801, and Qualcomm had a healthy win for the S5. The S5 Exynos was an early attempt for big.LITTLE and there was many issues, please read up about it. With the Note 4, the QSD 805 was a slightly refined and overclocked 801 and it was decent. But the Exynos variant introduced 64bit processing, and solved many of the early issues with the big.LITTLE scheduler and thread management system. The S8 Exynos was not better than the QSD 835, on the contrary, they were quite close but the Snapdragon version won overall. And when it came to battery drain, it was no contest victory for Snapdragon. It was definitely the better package, not even accounting for the Sony Exmor sensor compared to the Samsung Isocell sensor difference.

During the s5 the exynos still had better cpu performance and efficiency i believe. And audio of course. Then came the note 4 later that year which the exynos variant had again better audio, cpu, and even better gpu through sustainability.

If they were squeezing more out of the cpu it would win speed tests.
If they got better use out of less ram then why does ios reload more. Why did ios lead for years in app crashes. And if it's so ionized why did they led in app crashes for years?
They get decedent mixed usage and great standby time out of a smaller battery because of the better standby time yes. And now thanks to a really efficient soc good battery. And getting better since the plus released because they finally starting having batteries that were bigger.
But actual straight run time was always lesser because of smaller batteries. And fastest deteriorating batteries are normal because of their already lower capacity.
That list can go on forever. They do optimize some things well but their issues in bugs/lacking optimizing and quality control have shone through time and time again.
Especially if you truly aren't a fan... stop acting like one.

The diss/fanboyism comment is to spread lies or false things, such as, that iOS is not optimised for the Apple Ax SoC's. That's what "Anonymous" meant when he said "iOS can't utilize it's full potential".
Apple optimises the juice out of that software and processor, so much so that, you can get very fast operation from less RAM or older Processor, much sharper videos (photos good too) than the spec sheet suggests, and have a decent battery life from a much smaller battery unit. So that's definitely two things to be jealous of. The other things would be to have: generally less bugs in the OS/Updates, much faster updates, much longer updates, generally better security, better privacy, better customer support, better SDK support, better accessory support, and better build quality. I know these things cost more time, effort, and money... but I always hoped that the market would spur competition so Android OEMs can match or exceed these qualities.
At the end of the day, if I want "the best" the only option is iPhone. Android devices can be more expensive, or have many other qualities, but they lack in the fundamentals I pointed out. I'm rocking the OnePlus 7 Pro as a daily driver, it's rooted, and I'm fiddling with ROMs, Themes, Accessories, Apps, and Emulators. It fits my use better than other phones. I can buy the iPhone 11 Max if I wanted too, and it would make me happy. But for me the 7p is better but for most the iPhone will be the best, that's what I know when I remove my subjective feelings away. Although iPhone's are terrible value, and not everyone will spend time to research or "hack" their OnePlus as I do, so there's different perspectives either way.
edit: Snapdragon vs Exynos.
Read up the deep-dives on Anandtech to get a clearer picture, but Jaeger is generally correct for the past few years anyway. What it means for S11, we can't tell yet.
S1: Exynos better
S2: Exynos better
S3: Exynos better
S4: Exynos better
S5: Snapdragon better
S6: Exynos better
S7: Exynos better
S8: Snapdragon better
S9: Snapdragon better
S10: Snapdragon better
S11: ??? better
Jaeger, 29 Oct 2019That could be a isolated case. My Note9 with SD845 never overheated, in any scenario. Anyway, ... more"Snapdragon chips are known to be better than Exynos ones in performance, power efficiency and network compatibility."
I've heard quite the opposite and I've had Snapdragons all the time but this time I gave a shot to the Exynos and it's all down to who you want to support with your SOC of choice; Americans or South Koreans so let's compare: How long is your SOT?
I can get over 8 hours of SOT no problem and that is a full 1/3rd of the day of using my phone.
Kangal, 29 Oct 2019That's not true at all.
In fact, that is fanboyism. Android OEMs and users should stop making... moreNot only is there no "fanboyism" involved in the OP's comment, but nowhere is a "diss" also in sight... OP is stating pure facts of which are true and still current limitations on all Apple devices to date, which could be remedied with a newly released iOS or iPhone or any other i product if Apple chooses to go with the common sense route and not the money leech route.
Also, Android OEM's are not only to blame for slow progress but the whole industry as a whole with other external contributors hampering it even more like for example, Apple itself...
In essence, you made a fool of yourself so please check yourself.

Well, if you say so.

Split screen multitasking is super useful. Have been using it since Samsung introduced it back in the day.
iOS definitely hampers the potential of that Soc. There is no doubt about that. Like they could have given super slow mo 960fps or more recording. The chipset would have no problems, but they didn't give it.
If iOS was so optimized for its HW, then why does it reload apps and games compared to Android flagships?
