Because you can't claim the best without making a comparison, which is exactly Huawei and many other companies apart from Apple are doing. While Richard Yu should tone down his strong mockery against Samsung during the presentation, undeniably the comparison itself is a legit and effective way of showing the superiority of its own products over the others.

Ren Zhengfei talked about Apple's attitude as a company and his respect towards it, he clearly acknowledges that Huawei is a step behind Apple as a whole hence is consistently trying to catch up to the goal (or the "teacher") he's aiming towards. When I heard that he doesn't pressure his families to use Huawei products, I didn't find a single problem with it unlike many others - a decent person should allow their kids to use whatever the products they want, and forcing them to use his company's own products when they clearly didn't want to would be the most sh***iest thing he could do as a father.

Huawei is strong company. It won't slow down. Xiaomi is getting better and better too. OnePlus is great too. No reason to buy Samsung or iPhone.

If you advertising your phone/device/camera as the best then use that why would you want to use any other unless you admit yours isn't upto scratch.
If I was an Apple or Samsung CEO I be using their devices because 1 I would see them as the best and 2 they are free.
Whereas this guy clearly uses Apple and even his kids do so its not even just him on top of that he clearly called Apple his teacher so Huawei are Apple's students.
So next time all the Huawei fanboys start screaming hell about how Apple copied Huawei in certain things they better quieten down because your fave companys CEO even acknowledges that Apple is the teacher ;)
But hell you chinese/huawei fanboys go crazy call Huawei the best and call them amazing phones, whereas the people in charge buy Apple :D

People considering huawei phones over other brands including iPhones. All these American ban negative publicity is really really good for them. This situation is something like free commercials for huawei in all over the world. And they see the opportunity and they are really acting on it. The whole world media giving free publicity for them. And ofcourse they have really good products too....

Mainly because in Asia they are less reliant on Google than in Europe and North America, we can see how it turns out in South America, Africa & Middle East when the time comes but if sales works out in half of the regions they will still do good enough... V-V
