Finally...it was a huge problem before. Cars unfortunately included slow charging in those usbs that the battery was getting depleted faster than charging. Now you can use your own charger and Android Auto at the same time

No mention of a Android Auto 4.7 apk to install. Playstore just says the current version varies from the device.

I'm pretty sure all Android phones (since the S7) can support this function.
The limit in doing this isn't from the phone, it's the entertainment system. Many car companies cheap out here and go for the base minimum. Bluetooth connectivity is fine, but if you want proper graphics (ie Third-Party Apps, or Videos, etc etc) beaming from your handset to the console, you need a higher bandwidth connection. Wifi is the obvious answer. And I've seen this in action before, but only on the expensive head-units you get from Audio Companies like Clarion and Sony/Xplode.

I'd like to see Google pressure the auto manufacturers to put in higher quality consoles, maybe we could have a truly wireless experience. Ie walk up to your Toyota, unlock it with your phone's NFC, throw the phone on to the Qi cradle, start driving, the phone will begin to charge, and will pair wirelessly to the media centre. You can start up YouTube for your side passenger to watch, whilst you enjoy the free music (but watching the road).

You car also needs to support Wireless AA. If it doesn't, it won't work.

I'll give it a try with my old faithful S8+ then and see what happens.

              Thanks for the tip off.
