The lies are just so obvious its incredible. Huawei's last credibillity has finally gone.
Thats why the Kirin 990 and thereby the Mate 30, is for the first time a new Mate with only very slight increase in performance. Why would Huawei voluntarily for the first time ever in a flagship cribble their own product, if not for the ban ?

Yada yada yada. Every year we hear that now Huawei has finally catched up in performance to Snapdragon and Apple.. and every year when the relevant updated benchmarks come out, we see that they are exactly the same percentage behind as last year.

Huawei chips are worst at throttling.
They should employ a cooling solution like the gaming phones out there today.

A senior of mine says its impossible to make 5NM transistor, as nanotechnology is called so because, at that(10 2 power -9) you are already at molecular level, but more than anything we love to be proven wrong. Amaisin

dude111, 01 Oct 2019I thought the restriction applied only for future releases, so the A76 was "saved" from the ba... moreNope. Bans don't work quite like that. Also, have a look at the article you mentioned:
                        https://www.anandtech.com/show/14851/huawei-announces-kirin-990-and-kirin-990-5g-dual-soc-approach-integrated-5g-modem

Comparing it to the Exynos 980 (not Exynos 955) is not correct. That's a competitor against the Snapdragon 730 and Kirin 810. So that's not a valid argument.

The explanations that Ian Cutress received from Huawei was that they didn't have the expertise and time to rollout the Cortex A77 and Mali G77 for use on their slightly refined +7nm node. Even though there's a modest upgrade in the A77 Cpu, and a substantial upgrade in the G77 Gpu. That's just efficiency and performance they left on the table. The Kirin 990 is basically a Kirin 980, almost no difference besides a slight refinement. It's like comparing the Snapdragon 855 to the Snapdragon 855 Plus, in terms of upgrade. That means the Huawei's flagship, Mate 30 Pro and P40 Pro are going to be using a 2018/2019 chipset in 2020. It's not good, but those chipsets are pretty decent, so it doesn't matter all that much (Samsung got away with using the ridiculous Exynos 9810 !!).

I doubt the USA ban had much to do with it. And I'm sure Huawei is back to designing their 5nm A77 chipsets already, and having it prepped to launch in Q3 2020. Although I'm more interested to seeing the next microarchitecture jump: Small cpu A58, Small gpu G58, Big cpu A78, Big gpu G78. We'll see it in 2021 on advanced 5nm nodes, likely Snapdragon 875, Exynos 9900, and Kirin 2000. That's scratching the performance of the PS4 Pro but in your hand/pocket.

As long as apple calls throttling a feature they cant be first.
In this case even mediatek is more powerfull at least doesnt throttling.
And in case of batery, CPU and Durability Kirin 1000 build on 5nm process will consume such low that the battery will last a very long time.
About durability any and every jerryrigeverything test proven apple isnt trustworthy company.
And they are pretty costly even for screen on their cheapest model they ask 400 euros. Apart being costly they have nothing to impress.
Times when price means quality are long time gone. And in case of apple they lie to anybody just to increase sales.
They exclude themselves even from Doxmark scores because they know that even the Xiaomi redmi 7 Note with 48 Mpix for 150 euros does comparable photos.

And about the CPU even a new device by apple have this so called throttling feature.
And a 5W charger in the box which is complete laughable.
Any tests done on Youtube proven the best endurance king is ROG2 along with Mate 30 pro.
And if i look just and only for endzurance nothing beats oukitel K10 with 11 000 mAh battery.

And they also declared on AnandTech that they wanted to use the A77 but it couldn't scale properly... although they use the Exynos 955 as comparison point (2.2Ghz) so who knows what's true and what not.
