While Xiaomi reveals the Mi Mix Alpha concept phone, Sharp (the originator) releases this gimmick.
Look how the innovator has fallen. But what to expect from the riskless Japanese.

Ser... moreThat's plain wrong. Higher refresh rate just means the display updates faster.
Imagine a person placing parcels on a table for a courier to pick up. There can be only parcel on the table, so if the courier is too slow, the earlier parcel is thrown away and a new parcel is put in its place, and if the courier is too fast, he won't have anything to pickup and will just relive his previous pickup (he actually won't but can't think of an alternative >.>).
The person is the GPU and the speed of the courier is the refresh rate. More refresh rate doesn't make the GPU render more, it'll just show the same frame again if the framerate is lower.
Also, while at it, the reason we have things like G-Sync and Freesync is to keep the placement in sync with the pickup. The courier would tell the person when he'll come and they try to keep in sync so that no parcels are wasted or randomly repeated.
What about some research before posting nonsense?
The 240Hz refresh rate applies to the touch panel, not the screen itself.
Come on... 240Hz? That's plain stupid... Especially on a phone... Even top class monitors for PCs don't bother with that.
Lets see that battery do anything at that refresh rate.

What is the name of this game which is displaying in the pohne.
finally sharp zero series had it successor.. but too bad, it won't be available outside japan, unless you buy it from japan or through reseller like kyoex
/nevermind it's actually 6.4" now that I read it again... Sigh, they should bring a compact version once again.
There isn't even much difference between 240 and 120 FPS to human eye as there is from 60 to 120 but it's quite impressive in first place that they managed to pull that off on a OLED screen, on a phone
hmm, 25 Sep 2019There are only handful games that even support 60fps only :D I dont know any that support ove... moreThe hardware cqn support candy crush at 240fps but it's limited to 30fps
As a long time gamer the jump from 60-120hz is considerably more noticeable than 120-240hz.
6.4" 240Hz display and only 3k1 mAh battery, is this a joke or they want user to recharge every hour lol

Well funny on google play there are just few games which supports 60 HZ refresh rate so a 240 HZ refresh rate is completely marketing gimmick.
Its same like having a 8K screen on a 6 inch device.
or if we install Buggatti Chiron Motor to a class X heavy tank from world of tanks game such as Maus.
It will be same like having a laser sight on a slinger or catapult.
Or buying your fish a fish training kit.
Or having and buying a Head Mounted Toilet Paper Dispenser
Even a snowball maker, butterstick or shoes unmbrellas sounds cool compared to this.
240 HZ refresh rate on a 6 inch screen with 3000 mAh battery when there are no apps or games to support anything abiove 60HZ is kinda joke.

I dont know any that support over that. Or are the hardware even capable to run anything over 60. Seems like all games are optimized to run on 30 and even 60 will be not stable so i dont even see the point of the 90 and 120Hz screens :D
240 Hz, meaning how to quadruple GPU usage without any improvement in graphics quality.
Seriously, games that can reach this type of framerate won't benefit from it. And the games that can't reach 240 fps, well, they don't need 240 Hz display in the first place.
What a joke, android itself can't render UI past 60 fps consistently
Better wait for Fuchsia
240hz refresh rate screen + 120hz touch-sense, this what I need.
