Well lets hope it wont be like with first phone, promised two year update period, users litterally got like 5 updates in total, so lets hope its not another promise like that
Anonymous, 30 Aug 2019Well, I've bought two TV's in the last 4 years and already feeling like it's time to upgrade, ... moreWell depends on usage, I still got plasma, it doubles as radiator :)
Anonymous, 30 Aug 2019Not everyone is like you who'll use TVS for 20 years. Some switch in 5 some in 3I don't have faith that modern TVs will still work in 20-30 years. The old CRTs were built to last, but modern flat-screen TVs have mainboards and power supplies that die far too often. I would hope to get 7+ years, but smart features will be woefully out of date and a serious security risks on your network by that point.
Do people still believe anything this guy/OnePlus said/promised? Remember the headphone jack? Poof, that's gone. Besides, most people keep TVs for longer than 3 years. So this is just a PR bull.
simple to say if your price is as good as mi and sansui or sanyo or tcl and you guys are making it same a good as sony or samsung then why not ....plus i have an experience with oneplus which is really good..
vrvly, 30 Aug 2019isnt it quite short for tv... you buy tv every 3 years?Well, I've bought two TV's in the last 4 years and already feeling like it's time to upgrade, whenever HFR-supported models get a bit cheaper I'll go for the next one. My current Sony TV is the last 60 Hz display in my house and that has just has to go.
oneplusyoudrunkbro, 30 Aug 2019Oneplus, Bro, 3yrs? are you HIGH? I am from india, living in metro city, Pune. I got tv in... moreIt's not like the TV will stop working after 3 years. Lots of TVs don't get updates on the software side after 3 years.
It is a f*ckin TV. You have had your TVs for decades, and I am certain there was not a single update. You have been happy so far, right?
Your landline phones also didn't have updates. Quit whining.
Not enough. NVIDIA does it much better. Their Shield TV Set top box has entered its 4th year of support and got Android P TV recently. And that thing launched 4 years ago. And it's "only" 200$. A full fledged television has an expected lifetime of 5 to 10 years. Support must follow. Otherwise, what's the incentive to buy their TV rather than another device with proper software support (and that can be replaced for a fraction of the TV's price if its support gets dropped)?

Oneplus, Bro, 3yrs? are you HIGH?
I am from india, living in metro city, Pune.
I got tv in my house which is 20yrs old
my best friend got tv which is 30yrs old
my neighborhood got tv which is on avg. 9-15yrs old
We are higher middle class, working class people.
so how you gonna make us & them change this?
I agree, 3 years is not enough. I have had my current TV for 4. I will have it probably another 2 or 3 years before I replace it as its still a very good Sony TV.
NotAnOpinion, 30 Aug 2019So, TVs are getting fragmented now? Fail!Android TVs are been fragmented for the past 5 years, only Fuchsia OS can fix the absolute state of Android ecosystem as a whole
For TVs 3 years are too short, their expected life time for common consumers are MINIMUM 10 years in my region!! 3 years promise no big deal! My LG TV getting updates even after 7 years!!
Ben, 30 Aug 2019Why would I want a TV , yes a TV, that software is maintain for 3 years only? Can you read? Software updates for AT LEAST three years.
