Anonymous, 17 Jun 2019Is there a plastic screen?I think phones used too use plastic touch screen before it changed too glass touch screens
I would also prefer plastic touch screens
Plastic simply just don't smash like glass can
I don't understand why the industry thinks glass is better
After all there's years phone with glass screens still get dropped and broken and smash by people who are clumsy
All of the so called improvements too screen resistance too damage has barely even made a difference and they show phones survive crazy things in a lab conditions yet in real would usage a clumsy person it only last a year of drops and being sat on or other possible ways of being broken
When will the Akhan's diamond coating on glass launch into the market?
EskeRahn, 18 Jun 2019Everything? You try to find a fully curved tempered glass protector for an Elephone U / U Pro.... moreWell i never try to look for something like Elephone because this is a very minor brand its not even in top 20 or 30 phone brands. And here n Slovakia we dont have such brand for sale.
If aliexpress wont work for you try wish site or ebay amazon etc.

And yes that IS an uncommon device BUT the Boe display is identical to the one on the F(x)tec Pro1 https://www.fxtec.com/pro1/ (And that is what I'm looking for)
I can find flat tempered glass covering partly, or curved soft protectors....

Thats simple.
By the way i neer wouldnt try to buy or own a phone which i am unable to have or buy book case and a tenmpered glass screen protector.
My both hands are lefthanded if you know what i mean.
In other words Murphy laws saying: If something had to broke its get broken. In my case happens very often.
AnonD-731363, 17 Jun 2019Well my current motorola phone have shatterproof protection and yet i still use a glass screen... moreThe point I tried to state was that if the display is hard, a tempered glass protector is very important.
If the display is "shatter proof", simple protector films will do. But sure we can use tempered glass on this type too.
And you can get film to ANY phone/phablet (worst case cut one from one intended for a larger device), where especially fully curved tempered glass protectors might not be available for less common devices.
AnonD-558092, 16 Jun 2019But I'm not here to discredit you. Actually it would be great if GSMArena did such comparison.... moreSure, same here, I also want to know.

More protection usualy better.
AnonD-731363, 17 Jun 2019Still the shatterproof glass by Motorola is better solution thann gorilla glass. I prefer shatter proof too. BUT it is only good if you buy a stack of (cheap) protective films and replace them say about once a month as they get too scratched.
There are no free dinners. Either we have an elastic material that is hard to break but easy to scratch, or we have a brittle material that is hard to scratch but breaks relatively easy.
So if people do NOT want to change a top layer regularly AND are willing to take the higher risk of breaking, well then they should go for devices with GG3 rather than GG5. It is not that one is "better" than the other in a general sense of it. To each his/her own.
For many devices you can find tempered glass protectors to put on top of GG3, they are reasonably cheap, and take the majority of not to heavy impacts to the device. I used them for my BB Priv, and changed roughly every two months, as they broke partially - or took a hit and was wasted.

The interesting thing is Asahi's Dragontrail is better than CGG.
Gorrila Glass, Ashai dragon tail glass or shapphire glass its still beaten by shaterprof protection by Motorola.
Still the shatterproof glass by Motorola is better solution thann gorilla glass.
Doesn't change anything, since my first smartphone I've always used screen protector.
