Karl, 17 Jan 2021Seriously. I can't be the only weirdo in Europe who wants a compact, capable phone You're not. I almost cried when I found out that the Ace 2 is going to become a Japan exclusive.
Karl, 17 Jan 2021Seriously. I can't be the only weirdo in Europe who wants a compact, capable phone No, you aren't the only one. I spend hours looking for a replacement phones every two years, from nokia music express 5800 to sony xperia z3 compact, z5 compact and now xz2 compact. And despite all my efforts, the phone inside the front pockets of my pants keeps on growing... And there was a time where I thought that an iPhone 4 was too big...
Gsmarena staff, couls you add this device to Sony's section of phones? Unlocked unit are making their round around eBay and Malaysia already

pauliunas, 08 Jul 2019Well I don't really care about height. I don't grip my phone between top and bottom, I grip it... moreHeight is critical if you always store your smartphone in the pocket of your trousers, even more if you bike a lot. You don't want your phone to fall out when you are riding. Chances are high it will be broken at those speeds.
Another reason why height is important is that a smaller phone is easier to operate with 1 hand. This is even more true for people with small hands.
The third reason is that some people mostly use their smarphone to phone only. They use laptops, desktops and/or professional separate cameras. All other functionalities in the smartphone are thus just a backup for them. A big clumsy phone is so not what they want.
Too bad it is not marketed in Europe
I do not see a specifications page for the Xperia Ace under your Phone Finder > Sony section. Since this phone has been out for a couple months could you add a specifications page?

Denis Thomas, 10 Jun 2019Umm no? If it is bigger than Z5, it's actually a big phone. It's length would be too much.Since when is 65mm "bigger" than 72mm?
As for your "um no": show me a decent phone that is narrower than 70mm and isn't called "xperia ...something... compact" and I take all my words back.

Old Xperia ZL ... more5mm wider is what differentiates "compact" smartphones from "big" smartphones. Pretty much every phone is 70-72mm wide (or wider) nowadays, and sony compact series so long have been 65mm wide. That's actually a big difference, and that's why they're compact. For perspective, take a look at iPhone SE. It's 60mm wide and look how TINY it is compared to today's "phablets"!!

Sorry Sony go home, you are drunk.
