Does anyone else noticed? The "6" looks like the flex for the dual slider to work.

btw. lol @ people who argue which phone with SD855 is faster... There's virtually 0 noticeable difference in daily usage between SD820 and 855 and you complain that one 855 phone is slower than another 855 one.

If I compare Asus phones with others like Samsung phones with same chipsets, they usually lag behind and I believe it is the problem of software optimization. This problem is especially obvious in their mid rangers, IMO.

Hope the 6 would improve the battery life.

Having a dual camera means that there's a possibility that the device would be priced lower, and that Asus probably didn't go cheap on the sensors.

I'd take a good single/dual camera setup over any triple or quadruple one with mediocre sensors and lenses.

Asus simply never released something excepti... moreSince we're talking personal opinions here, I've owned HPs (entry-level compaqs through their elitebook line), Toshiba, Samsung (Not so horrible for the price) and Dells. And buck for a buck, none even came close to any laptop I've bought from Asus. If you compare them by class, Asus almost always had a small useful feature to sweeten the deal. Their support site is also one of the best to use, beaten only by Dell and Lenovo. But That's my opinion anyway.

In terms of smartphones, I haven't owned any from the zenfone line yet, But I've owned some of their tablets, and their Fonepad7 is still alive and ticking for over 5 years with decent battery life. I've tried Apple, Samsung, Sony, HTC, Xiaomi, and Huawei from different classes. But the Zenfone 6 seems to be worth trying, and it could stick like his elders did.
We own a second-hand shop if you're wondering, so I can try phones to my heart's content.

Asus simply never released something exception. Their phones are ok, their notebooks are average at best, their mainboards are still decent (often with horrible VRM, but decent), their headphones are pure garbage, their mic attempt pure garbage, windows tablets overpriced and not as good, soundcards ... they terminated their soundcard department, the only department that actually was making one of the best soundcards.
etc. Asus is just a mess with broken ideas that target 10-15 yo "gamerzzzzzz kids".

Anonymous, 10 May 2019I haven't own any Zenphone yet. How good is Asus when it comes to releasing updates?Original Zenfone 5 here (aaahhh, Asus with their confusing model naming practice). Got it some years ago (2014) as a second device, and been using it as a GPS device for the last 3 years.
During its "official lifetime" it got several firmware updates (7-8 I think), starting from Jelly Bean 4.3, through KitKat, up to Lollipop 5 officially (apart from the numerous custom Roms going up to 7.1 - with trade-offs of course).
It has served me very well as a second device and even though it was dirt cheap and had a unique Intel chipset, it still holds pretty good (apart from the battery life).
Considering what I paid for it when new, I have absolutely no complains. And the build quality is waaayyy above the expectations of the price range. So whilst at the moment I am looking into S10 or similar staff, I am eagerly waiting for Zenfone 6 to see what it has on offer and whether the build quality lives up to my expectations.

Asus is finally picking up pace!
pricey or not, they added an led, 3.5 jack and a triple slot and removed the hideous notch... they're listening to our rants more than the others.
