Boldy, 07 May 2019Software actually makes a lot of difference to the scores, along with thermal characteristics ... moreA guy who owns the Black Shark 2 enabled GPU boost on the device and got 400K+ on antutu, if Xiaomi was a company like those they would've done that first.

pocophone f1 user here. i am not sure why some people here are saying miui is laggy, but i have a different experience with it otherwise. yes, the f1 has poco launcher, but the only difference it has with regular miui is the app drawer. my first encounter with miui was in 2012 when i had a friend flash my xperia arc s to a miui rom. miui was quite popular then and i think most of the other android forks took inspiration from it. as has been then and now miui has always been known to be fast. even now with the bloats and ads (which i am able to turn off in the f1), miui still is faster for me than any other ui i have experienced (except oxygen and aosp). i usually am the go to person for friends and family when they have a new device and are not familiar with it, so i have experienced most of smartphone uis. i currently am using the pocophone f1 and razer phone 2, and between these 2 (eventhough the razer phone 2 is almost stock and has 60Hz refresh rate all the time), the f1 still blazes way past the razer phone 2. my wife also has the galaxy s9 and the low-tier redmi s2, but despite not being able to turn off ads on the s2 it matches and often exceeds the speed of the s9. mind you, the redmi s2 has a 3 year old mid-range soc while the gs9 has last year's flagship.

And the Mi 9 display recovered from JerryRigEverything flame test just like the Galaxy S10 did, so I assume the panel is good quality.

If anyone haven't noticed all of the top antutu phones on the list(minus Samsung) are not world top smartphone makers. We all know why. And it's not the antutu score stopping them. Don't buy phone based on antutu. Only newbie do that.
