Pentile matrix is a version of an Amoled screen, not the same as the Amoled technology. There has been full RGB subpixel Amoled screens in the past in mobiles. But nowadays, in mobiles, at least, most are pentile matrix. But there are even single color Amoled screens used in various electronics.
There have been color LCDs as well with other amounts of subpixels than 3, both more and less. And there are of course single color LCDs as well.
So yes a pentile matrix amoled screen or another matrix that uses less than 3 subpixels per pixel will in many cases appear less sharp than an LCD with 3 subpixels per pixel.

Pretty much a 1080p Amoled is as sharp as a 720p LCD. Or in fact amoled’s effective resolution is 2/3 of the advertised resolution.
This is a fact. It doesn’t mean that amoled is inferior as it still has unparalleled black levels!
But the reason why the whole discussion about the iphone xr screen is just pointless is this:
Take a galaxy s10. It runs on 1080p be default. The majority of people keep that setting. 1080p amoled IS as sharp as a 720p lcd. The XR screen is sharper in real life than people expect. It is pretty much the same as any other phone.
Stop reading the specs! Battery mah, number of cores, number of megspixels, ram is not the whole story.

Look it up. He is correct. The xr display is better than a 1080p amoled when in it comes to real/effective resolution.
Similar to why 720p amoled displays on mid rangers are an eyesore.

But what I wanted to say is that most of the users don't care about numbers as long as phone is nice and working good. Even screen resolution you can't really notice if you are using phone mostly for internet browsing.

1080p amoled is equal to 720p LCD in terms of sharpness.

My 128GB SD Card is already 60% full with photos and videos... morePhone storage is temporary storage. You should back up and unload your phone each month at least onto a laptop, external hdd, cloud, etc.
Keeping all your files and media stored on a phone is wrong. If you lose your phone or it gets stolen, then it's bye bye photos, videos, etc. All of it.
You go on vacation - when you get back home, you back up those photos/videos.
You have one or a few nice weekend breaks/parties - you back up those photos once/twice a month.
You just have a quiet month with nothing particularly interesting happened - you back up your phone at the end of the month.
A phone is like a digital camera: you take photos/videos and you unload them to your laptop or external hdd when you get home. You don't store them indefinitely on it.
