Water resistance: Please ensure that the cap and battery covers are firmly closed. Users should refrain from immersion in seawater, pool water, and hot spring water. The IPX5 designation indicates that the mobile phone can normally function after being sprayed with water from a nozzle with a diameter of 6.3 mm at a rate of 12.5 liters per minute from a distance of approximately 3m for a period of at least 3 minutes. IPX8 designation indicates that the smartphone normally functions after being immersed in room-temperature tap water to a depth of 1.5 m for 30 minutes.

The Japanese have their own standards in terms of technology that they make, and great products they always look cool, great and shocked the world, always innovating and honing skills of imagination and creativity, thirst for knowledge, and behold, their country forward! I'm proud of them ... ^ _ ^

My friend in Yokohama uses the F-07D in the bath via a WiFi integrated device built into his bath panel!
He can even log into his home network and run the bath while he is driving home from the office. This means he has more time for his concubine.

Don't other nations support this 3yr+ old technology yet?

I hear that there is a surgeons version about to be released that is microns slim on one side so that it can be answered during an operation. (Vibrate mode is off by default).

It'd be great if Fujitsu had their own brand section here on the site, so we could compare their phones..

They've got some great phones out now..

Nothing in this world is waterproof, or scratchproof, if we take your logic.

Gorilla or Scratchproof glass can also get scratches, so they are not really scratchproof, are they?

Other Smartphones just need 1 drop of water on the wrong point of its surface and it will not work anymore, so 3 meter depth, resisting that pressure makes it really waterproof, who the hell goes swimming with his smartphone anyway? Its just meant, that you can lightly use it, when you are outside and it rains and stuff like that, nothing more.

Wish htc and samsung etc made their UK high end phones water resistant. My phone always goes off when I'm sat in the bath with wet hands. I will def consider this feature when I upgrade to my next new phone.

regs, 08 Jan 2012Notice the difference - water resistant and water proof. Most phones nowadays are water resistant.no phone in the general market is "water proof" ones like the defy and xperia active are also water resistant...just because they can go in up to 3 meters of water doesnt make it water proof...water proof means a phone cannot get damaged by water period.
