Oreo update was promised in Q3 2018, and cancelled with promise of Pie update in Q1 2019. But nothing yet. Still stuck in Nougat at Q2 2019.

Pie came in August 2018. We have it available for only 8 months. Where do you find something like a year or one and half year of Pie update delay ?

Asus what I call cheap but quality remain standard not like vivo f1s that screen become fully white after a year (price $320 at lunch).

Don't update to them until you read what others have to say. The other phones that they have updated to Android Pie are stuck in airplane mode, even when you turn it off. Not only do you get no mobile data, but you don't even get Wi-Fi. They have essentially been turned into internet-less devices.
They're supposed to push an update to fix this problem, but it may be some time out.
