The reason why this phone is compared to old flagships because this phone would wreck any midrange phone with the same price when overall performance were objectively being compared. The only problem I knew about this phone is its design which others may not like but that's subjective in nature and no one can argue with that preferrence, to each their own.

But Xiaomi will never give that feature to Redmis (atleast for now) because that feature is reserved for their Mi flagships.

Also if you're not too ignorant about some facts, Xiaomi Redmi Y1 (or Note 5A) and Redmi Y2 (or S2) has dual sim and dedicated microsd slot.

it's just mediocre ...
there are a lot of flagships offering better VFM,
(even better cam-s!)
f.e. nearly no Showme phone has global radio coverage (only few bands supported)
and so on ...

Quad-bayer sensor arrangement needs additional processing to do 48MP thus any 48MP results is just an approximation. 48MP achieved through computational processing is way different than a 48MP sensor with a standard bayer filter arrangement. Still a 12MP natively with pixel translation better than that of the GM1.
DPReview has better explaination about this sensor, I would believe them more than any kind of blog posts.
