Actually all cellphones from several vendors will look too expensive compared to Xiaomi, especially the Iphone. But there is an extrinsic value that cannot be exchanged for the nominal money, that is exclusivity. Being different is valuable too. 430 euro for SD636 with ips screen and 3000mAh battery is a bit expensive.
Especially when you get something like Mi 9 with 400 that has amoled screen and sd855 in it or for 300 euro mi 9 se that has sd712 and amoled screen plus both have better cams as more to date on them.

Anonymous, 27 Feb 2019Judging by the pricing of their products, they'd probably need to force people to buy it anyways....Your assumption is invalid, it was never happened before even But they never tricked anyone before like high spec mediocre quality, which makes them pretty honest, they are offering the specs and the price, no games.

Anonymous, 27 Feb 2019Midranges do not have premium cameras.
The Asus Zenfone 5 has, the Lenovo Z5 Pro has a good ones too. The main one from the Motorola G7+ is good. All them with OIS and good results. Few ones but bit by bit are improving like the mid-range SoCs like the 670/710 that are a lot better than before and better than two or more years old flagship SoC and with the addition of AI and camera capabilites too.
Not worth wait for the drop of these phones when what they offer now and in moths are inferior to what others offer. Now and in the futuro because like this ones will drop in prices, others will do too. And always preferred above these ones with older SoC and worse components.

6.5" 21:9 has very similar screen area of 5.9" 16:9. XZ2 Premium has 5.8" 16:9 .
XZ2P has 3420 mAh.
So 1 must have similar endurance, or bit better because it has just bit over 6 million pixels, while the other Premium have above 8 million.

Two comments so far think that this is some premium kind of phone, as always Sony did great with the design. So I will just try to clear the air here
1. These are initial prices which include tax for early adopters who want to show off. Comparing the initial price with Honor View 20 who has been on the market for 3 months is comparing apples to oranges. And btw if you can buy Honor View 20 for 350 like you said I will buy 10 right now cause I can flip them for 520 within a day or few days if I price them 570. On the other hand for 500 you can XZ3 which is hell more serious that budget Huawei brand phone
2. Wait for another three months and prices of Xperia line will drop for about 50. Wait for six months and you will see discounts of up to 90. Current XA2 Plus which is a gorgeous phone unlike any other in it's price range is 255 right now. That's a 120 discount within half a year. Never buy brand new Sony model.
3. Battery size is OK for this type of the device. Sony does really good job with battery management and it would not be the first time that 3200 Sony lasts as 3500 Samsung
4. CPU is what it is, 636 is underclocked 660 with different RAM speed and GPU. 630 is lost cause but good enough for everyday stuff. Reason why it will be good with the battery as well

I love Xperia and using the Xperia devices from almost 6 years.. But this time I'm very disappointed !!

The battery is joke for that screen size. I'm not going to pay that high price for old SoC too. And not premium cameras, no OIS in a single sensor. If they want ask premium price, give us actual premium hardware, not a restyle to fool people making them believe that is something new when is old inside and not premium.
