anonymous, 14 Feb 2019Microled still falls under the lcd category.How .. it doesn’t use a lcd sub tray as far as I’m aware microleds are just leds so they RGB leds instead of a plastic sub tray and one Led producting white and using plastic to allow different colours through so it’s like Oled but without using the plastic organic material.

Not very surprising when you consider all they do (like every other Chinese company) is to steal and copy technology from foreign firms. Which means boe doesn't have to spend a dime on r&d and can instead leverage their low cost base to win lucrative supply contracts to oems all over the world.

This article is about LCDs from BOE & LG. The science & engineering of LCDs are taught at universities around the world. It's old, you don't need to steal from anyone. It just required fine tuning the manufacturing processes.
