Anonymous, 11 Feb 2019I don't know about the world but western markets prefer tried-and-true flagships like iPhones ... moreIn the place I work (a world leading technology company based in US), many of my colleagues are dying to own a Huawei flagship smartphone (P20 series, Mate 20 series). Those are people working at the frontier of the IT technology with high paying salaries. Actually many of them are willing to order Mate 20 Pro from foreign websites or buy those sets on their foreign trips, absorbing the risk of no warranty service. In the minds of those truly tech-savvy people, Huawei is the real top brand of smartphone today, not Apple, not Samsung.
If you are in the field of cutting-edge of networking technology, you will know that Huawei has a god-like presence. You meet them (people representing Huawei) at the international meeting where various international standards are decided. You meet them at the top technology conferences where leading research results in the field are presented. You may not use Huawei's devices in you day-to-day work, but you cite Huawei's research papers in the paper you want to submit for publication. Yes, you feel real and tangible impact of Huawei in your professional life.
(In a gradual but substantial way, Huawei is differentiating itself from the rest of the pack. On youtube, there are high quality long and in-depth tutorials offered by professional photographers on Huawei's camera setup and its app. Huawei's P20 Pro and Mate 20 Pro are the only two smartphones have so far received serious treatment from the professionals on youtube. You will not find comparable in-depth treatment on Note 9, V40, iphones, Pixel 3 or other so called top models.)
Anonymous, 11 Feb 2019I don't know about the world but western markets prefer tried-and-true flagships like iPhones ... moreAnd something like true flagship doesnt exist.
Poco is same flagship as any other phone.
It have same CPU and GPU.
Rest of the add-ons, gimmicks and features its lacking compared to some other flagships are in Poco favor because for a much less price you can get same great device without paying much more bucks for things you dont know how they work what they do and how to use them. Maybe 5-10% of people are different but for rest of the buyers they use phone for basic things such as dialing, messaging internet gaming and thats it.

Anonymous, 09 Feb 2019How do you know they won't add ads once they grow big enough? It's a given it's either going t... morethey(realme) will never grow big enough as there will be brands like redmi to compete....there are brands like honor(for example) are still not showing any ads despite having a decent market share..once realme starts showing ads(i hope they won't) i switch to some another brand or flash custom roms
The_Truth, 08 Feb 2019You know people will read these numbers and say "Oh in India only 200$ phones work and premium... moreIf more Indians bought premium flagships (which they obviously can't according to stats like these) from top phone makers then prices would go down. Cheaper sub-brands like Redmi, Galaxy A/J, and Honor are way more popular in India for a reason. I think companies like Apple, Samsung and even Huawei price their phones so high there from the get-go is because they know it won't sell well.

Their quality and prices compared t... moreI don't know about the world but western markets prefer tried-and-true flagships like iPhones and Galaxy S/Note series phones, the Mi series just can't compete with the big boys which is why they're resorting to shipping and selling so many low-end smartphones in their country and other developing ones like India where most of the people simply can't afford to spend more even if they wanted to buy something better.
Well xiaomi would be or should be number 1 in the world.
Their quality and prices compared to specs are far beyound the rest of the manufacturers.
Xiaomi for 200 outbeats Samsung or Sony for 300 and apple cant compete at all.
even after taking the top spot they are not releasing phones likes Mi Mix 2s, Mi Mix 3, Mi 8 etc in India...they think their premium segment phone sales won't be as good as budget ones...but they are wrong...I am dying to get my hands on the Mi Mix 2s first day of launch but they choose to stall...their loss..
...will go for Zenfone 5z in the same price range with sd845 instead..
Potential , 08 Feb 2019Very sensible post.. And also Indian youth need be develop tolerance they have too much hate. ... moretrue
Meanwhile, Indian own phone brand are failing. Look at China, they are smart people taking advantage of their own country population to sell their own brand to the people. Why India dont do this with billion of their own population. China is also a developing country yet they can do this. Just letting China monopolized the market. Yeah. The rest of the world not even trying.

Anonymous, 08 Feb 2019That means Apple and Huawei are the most premium phone sellersAnd Samsung. Those Samsung number i bet is most for S series and Note series (because in low end and mid there is no lot Samsung goos phones) from last year. Maybe this new M series will (finally) boost sales of low and mid Samsung phones.
But, Xiaomi had, and have good phones for around ,150-200$ just look at Note 7, for price good phone and real rival from Samsung is M20 (in price).

Just visit YouTube and read Indians youth comments you will be shocked.
Europe and USA needs to welcome far more new citizens/immigrants if we are going to be able to compete against India and China in the future!
Immigrants are just as intelligent and profitable human beings as anyone of us "white" Europeans, so we must stop treating immigrants as potentially costly "problems" and start treating them as the potentially profitable "solutions" they actually are!
India needs to get rid of their "caste system" to be able to reach India's full potential!
Tzar, 08 Feb 2019thank God. people has finally realized that iPhone is a scam. you just pack things up and put ... moreSo I'm assuming you think indian people buy iPhone! We have lots of cheaper option and also not that kinda salary.
Now redmi is independent brand so I don't think xiaomi top the list in 2019. You cant even find xiaomi in end of 2019. They didn't even release mi max 3 last year and mi 5( low end /Basic version) is the last flagship they release in India .
