Anonymous, 08 Feb 2019With no added features but bugs, I'll never call sony updates excellent.You mean those insignificant and useless features that I'm desperately trying to uninstall from my S8+ because they kill the battery and the processor?
I'd rather have stock vanilla Android and choose what apps to install myself, instead of having tons of features I never use and actually dislike.

Let me save you some time: there are none. Even the most compact 5inch 18:9 which happens to be Sony is not hundred percent one hand friendly.

SONY is going all out again with XZ4. Flop-Hit-Flop-Hit, SONY is inconsistent with its Xperia lineup. Xperia XZ Premium top of the line place 1 holder throughout 2017. Xperia XZ2 Premium + XZ3 don't know what SONY was thinking with such poor design choices. Now Xperia XZ4. Hmmmmmmm. On paper XZ4 looks exceptional and perfect. I hope it really performs as good as it looks.

4:3 you sti... moreFirst of all, VLC and YouTube allow you to display the videos in full screen. Yes, YouTube trimms a bit and you don't see 100%, but unless it's something for work or u need to see everything in very high detail (for that you use big displays like pc or tv tbh), you won't be bothered.
VLC allows you to watch videos in a LOT of aspect ratios. Personally I view videos stretched on my S8+. They seem a bit deformed the first minute, but after you don't notice it at all. In fact, after watching movies like this, everything else seems too stretched :))
Secondly and most important, people don't use SMARTphones just for watching 16:9 videos. Many times I write scripts on my phones and test them instead of turning the pc on, writing the script, uploading it to the phone bla bla bla.
SMARTphones ARE replacing regular PCs. I'm not saying they're better than today's gaming PCs, but they sure are better than a 5-10 year old office PC. And a lot of people work on their phones only. You'd be surprised how many.
Foldable smartphones that turn into a big display will absolutely destroy regular PCs in the next 5 years.
Sorry for the long comment, but people will brag about anything these days.
Personality I welcome taller displays. Also, the number one reason they made it this way is thanks to the sheeps that scroll all day long on fb and insta.

Better question I guess would be why would you want to? Phone makers issuing magnifying glasses with phones now so you can see the details?

A Smart Shooter, 07 Feb 201921:9 is useless, unless it can be folded. I doubt sony will success with this "too tall" screenI think 21:9 display ratio is fine if the design still fit in hand and pocket like iPhone Xs Max. So please exclude the notch or stupid hole.
