Anonymous, 29 Jan 2019Ads in MIUI phones are becoming worse. I made a mistake by buying a Xiaomi device for a family... moreZero ads in my Xiaomi. "Promoted apps" is set to off. Just as an example. Only normal ads in some free apps, which is unrelated to MIUI.

Xiaomi can release and THRIVE on releasing a $300 "true" flagship and only earning barely $15 in profit.

      Everyone else can't.

Anonymous, 29 Jan 2019Pls don't group Sony together with the likes of those companies and learn your lesson. Sony is... moreUnique, because they literary does not exist today in low and mid segment in mobile phones, even in Japan or? There is no new sony phones from mid range at all.
I agree, unique, but it was unique back in the days (2011-2015)..

Of course cheap price items will be sold more than the expensive ones. Samsung sell 1 Galaxy S series vs 5-8 Redmi phones.. Lol.. Just compare how much Galaxy S series number of sales vs Mi flagship series sales. Yes Galaxy S series is pricey because of high quality product and brand itself.

So.. I guess this is region(s) stuff, because i was using in the past like 5-10 differente Xiaomi phones (now also using one) with diff MIUI, without any settings, to turn off something, and those ads newer show up in setting menu. In other Xiaomi apps (if we dont turn of recommandations) yes. So i guess thats something regional, for example, if we change region from Germany to India, 4-5 new apps just start to install like Amazon, Flipkart and similar. And i agree, Xiaomi need to stop this, better to increase price pf their phones. Those ads we have in most of the aps from playstore anyway, like Viber, every time when we quit call ads pop up, with games its the same, at least we, users sont need ads in stock MIUI software (with global stable version(s).
