Of all the phones released in 2018, I find nothing truly worthy outside the Chinese brands. I pay attention only to Chinese phones, especially Oppo and Vivo, and to a less extend, to Huawei (Honor), OnePlus, and Xiaomi. 2018 is a year of Chinese phones. There will be a race to foldable phones in 2019, among Samsung, Huawei, Oppo, and Xiaomi. Apple is not in this race. Let's wait and see who makes the best foldable phones. With all the early indications, 2019 may turn out to be yet another year of Chinese phones.

More than any other brands, Vivo and Oppo are the real movers and shakers of 2018 smartphones. (Absolutely nothing new from Apple or Samsung.) 2019 looks to be another year of triumph for Oppo and Vivo.

The issue with true infinity displays has been accidental and the sides are more prone to damage. The design does look pretty promising though. And smartphones need to improve in their design language. The design of the pop up camera need to improve though. And I am very curious to see the back.
