"The Note 9 looks like an update and hopefully the new phone will have more storage options, newer OS and USB-C."

No need to hope...
If no body buys these craps, then they can't make it anymore, even bankruptcy at the door.

Simple solution to ask to manufacturer?
You dont make SD slot, no 3.5mm, with notch?
Then its all yours, buy yourself...

I dont know the market share of Meizu now but I'm sure it is higher than Lenovo's market share.

Meizu X8 was the first Meizu phone with a Notch.
This will most likely end up as X16 and not Note 9 (as the Note series is a very budget-oriented device, not to mention Note 8 launched last month)
Goes to show how much GSM arena actually know about Meizu, just copy and pasting from Chinese sites is not JOURNALISM!

Anonymous, 07 Jan 2019sensor size and MP are not tied together but i agree with you samsung keeps using same senso... moreSensor size and resolution must always be perfectly balanced. Obviously a higher resolution sensor would need a larger size to attain more light, and this is why the sensor is at 48MP, because it's large enough at 1/2".
The true magic here is that it can use Quad Bayer filtering, which can combine 4 pixels into 1 super pixel that's twice as large as the size of all individual pixels, at the cost of 1/4 the resolution (not necessary in cases where the extra light sensing capability would be used).
This high resolution just balances both daylight and low light image perfirmance, because in our current state, it's always a matter of giving and taking. Either you want great low light performance, the daylight resolution would have to suffer, but if it's the other way around, the low light quality would degrade drastically, and this is the problem that the Quad Bayer sensor tries to fix for the most part.
At least I'm happy enough that manufacturers are finally staring to use larger sensors already. We've been fed up by the plethora of mediocre 12-16MP 1/3" mid range sensors from mid range devices, and I wouldn't mind it if all mid range phones of 2019 use this exact same sensor but all with different utilizations.

Chinese OEMs are stealing legacy of "Note" from Samsung. Xiaomi, Meizu, Lenovo.

But no one can compare or beat the Galaxy Note the king of Smartphone (Android).
