If what has happened in 2018 is any indication, the future of smartphone will be driven primarily by the Chinese tech companies, not by Apple or Samsung, starting in 2019. This trend has already started in 2018. But 2019 will be the year to see this new reality fully emerge. New players, not yet known and not yet seen, will be most welcome.

Samsung and Apple no longer view each other as real rivals. Facing the onslaught from Chinese tech companies, both Samsung and Apple are under stress and starting to show fatigue. I think both companies will not be able to keep up with the Chinese. 2019 will be the year to see this new reality emerging.
