Same phone but with much better quality scree... morethats just a mi 8 with stock android. literally.
Mi 8 has QC4, Super AMOLED from samsung, OIS camera, telephoto, and it was out like since the dinosaurs.. idk if it has the bands for your country though

Same phone but with much better quality screen (no light bleed problems), improved camera software, and improvements on other weak points of the original, and I'd be willing to shell out $100 more.

Maybe, they will finally put 5000 mah battery with latest mid range SoC + decent screen and stereo speaker for $200. No selfie or gimmicks dualcam / ai whatever. Redmi note series trying to hard to get everything (mediocre-ly) while pushing the prices higher and higher.
