Anonymous, 18 Nov 2018Man, i was so excited when they announced the mi 8 lite but it hit me when it was 6.21 inches,... moreThere is this thing about aspect ratios: My Redmi Note 5AI (I had j5 2015 before buying Note 4 and then Note 5) has an 18:9 6" screen. 18:9 6" feels like a 5.5" 16:9 pone in hand and the 19:9 inch Mi 8 Lite should feel like a 5.6" device in hand so you shouldn't really worry about it being that big.
On the other hand, if you really want a smol device, the Mi A2 Lite exists. It has a 5.8" 19:9 display which should feel like a 5.2"-5.3" device in hand. I recently ordered this device off Aliexpress for my aunt so I'll get to see it in person too. Hope I helped you!

If I understand range right, Snapdragon 660 is as fast as 820, but packs more cores? (have the 820 in Xiaomi Mi5). Kinda lost touch with Snapdragon CPU types, only know 845 is their current top of the line and 820 used to be like 2 years ago. Never really checked other ranges much...

What justifies a significant price bump on this iteration, the Mi A2 has the same processor, chipset yada-yada-yada, its main camera and battery size may be a bit worse compared to this (oh, and this one has a notch), but in my book that's not enough of an 'improvement' to justify what, 60-70$ price bump? Maybe I'm missing on something...not sure...but at this point you may as well turn your attention towards Pocophone...
