Every smartphone must have a proper manual mode instead.
I say, Google should implement full manual controls as part of the Android OS, and give no option for manufacturers to disable them even after heavy skinning.

Xiaomi probably started having 4K video recording on $200 phones.
Nonetheless, it's good to see that there's always that one to urge everyone to move and work better. So much for overpriced devices that can't do many things when they're expected to do so.

Not doing so amounts to robbing the customer, and I think that is a bit of a crime, TBH.

They already putting 4K video recording enabled on Mid-rangers since Xperia M5 and made a grand return on Xperia XA2 family this year after absence on Xperia X Series and XA0/1 series.

They finally realized that they're behind Xiaomi in this regard.
My gosh, my Redmi 5 Plus with the inferior SD625 can do 4K, while most new smartphones can't!
And it's not just about numbers. New mid rangers utilize a low quality 1/3.06" sensor, while my Redmi 5 Plus has a 1/2.8" 12MP Sony IMX486 sensor with 1.25um pixel size.
Not bragging anything, but I'm expecting WAY more with the newer and supposedly "better" 2018 mid rangers.
