There are many free apps which can hide your notch toggle on Nokia 6.1.

But it seems you can get this file for $5 by a third party site. Though the Nokia community on XDA is quite dead.

HMD gets a whole bunch of their patents and technology from Nokia Technologies. HMD research and design their own devices, and then work with their manufacturer Foxconn to have them tested and put into mass-production - just like Apple. Nokia has to greenlight all the devices HMD makes before they can enter the market though.

As for why they don't call themselves Nokia; because they're a stand-alone company. As I said, HMD was founded by the former Nokia Devices VP Jean-Francois Baril. He's the one that was confident they would be successful. He worked out agreements with Nokia that would give HMD all of the advantages the former Nokia Devices division enjoyed, but with none of the financial risk to the Nokia Corporation.

And if you really suggest that HMD does 'research' then you must be blind or brainwashed. My Lumia 950XL is more Nokia than HMD abominations.
PS Research my arse. My N82 captures better pictures than any of those new 'Nokias'. And i won't even start about my 808. THOSE were Nokias. Not this chinese crap.
And last but not least; why don't they call themselves Nokia, if they are Nokia? Are you suggesting that China made Philips phones are actually Philips too?

The reason Google told them to remove it is because they're about to release the new pixels with a notch and they want to force people to accept it. They are fascists just like Apple

Eh, the first two mentioned are androids. Another funny thing is. The lack of headphone jack is also not to be seen first in apple. Motorola, another droid did it. Ps. Google cannot copy apple with something other OEM's do. Learn a bit of thechnology before releasing so much ignorance in one place with two words only.

Well this is what happens when you love boring stock android. unpredictable features and behavior in phones, no standards, no quality, zero concerns for customers ... they just push updates for namesake and doesn't even test them properly. These updates usually cause more problems than adding anything new. Good luck stock android fanboys !!!

Carol, 07 Sep 2018Well, while am pretty sure so much money per device they will not receive from samesung, but m... moreso, what happen if i go to a Mediamarkt and see a S8 at more than 600 euros and go online and see most of stores sell it for about 480 or less, whats the point here? who takes the big slice of money and what they do with it?! did you understand what i am saying?

thats not fair, in my country the local stores, the big eletronic ones, if they really are so big why they cant do the same prices as Online ones? steal the people who are blind at price knowledge, i never never gonna buy a phone in that kind of stores, cause i just laugh loud when i see the prices they do in everything, cause i am all eyes open to price of the things...

and see people buying overpriced at that stores really makes me bad, but its people money, they do what they can but more than one time i advice some people they can find the same for much less and they go with my word and (maybe) i do some justice.

I hate this stores, they steal a lot...i dont see the point.
