Doogee makes the best innovations in smartphones and delivers high-class performance with MediaTek chips at very lucrative prices!

So i have this device since a couple of weeks. Overall i'm happy with it but there are some things i have to 'live' with. I do not use this phone for gaming so my comments are based on regular usage (social media, navigation, browsing, etc...)

It has a really nice screen (for the price) and overall good performance, rarely experience lag. Fingerprint sensor works really well. I have not had any issues with connections (Bluetooth, NFC, Wifi and GPS) although Wifi does not have the best receptions compared to my previous phones but could be because of the rugged case. Battery life is very good i can go for 2 full days without a charge (and still have 20-30% left when i charge). Off course the rugged design has it perks, already took it swimming, was dropped in the mud and sand multiple times, it's not problem for this device. It's also nice they included wireless charging so you do not have to open the rubber flaps too much.

Now for the downsides/weird parts. First of all they shipped a micro USB instead of Type-C as charging cable... There are also some weird bugs, not sure if anyone else has these.

        1. Very occasionally the screen stops responding to swipes, you have to lock and unlock to resolve.

        2. Due to the aggressive memory management you have make sure apps like Whatsapp are whitelisted in all the relevant places/settings. Otherwise it will not sync in real-time. You also need to manually start your apps before they start to sync after a restart.

        3. When you are charging wireless, you cannot drag down the notification bar

        4. When your screen is on automatic brightness and it's toned down very low, in a dark environment the screen will just go completely black. I checked if it might be the backlight that just drops but there is really nothing visible. So your brightness bar needs to be 'high' enough to prevent this from happening.

Now the downsides. Not many for me, the biggest letdown was actually the camera, i knew beforehand it would not be all that great but it's really not on par with the rest of the device. Quality is a bit sloppy, but it does respond fast. Also the speaker is not super high quality but i also knew that beforehand.

All in all i'm happy with the Doogee S70, i like what they're trying to do and that it's clearly their goal to step up their game. But you notice they're still learning on the 'step up their game' part. I can live with 'bugs' and the downsides, mostly because of the price, can't beat that. I hope they'll make more devices like this.

I really liked its rugged looks. The best thing about this smartphone is its MediaTek Processor.

            Just ordered this phone.
Not for gaming but because of the rugged design, big battery and big screen.
€240 on Amazon, the specs are really not bad for that price.

Will get it next week, now just hoping there is no malware on it!
