What I do not understand is why I keep hearing about the price all the damn time in articles like this. I buy a phone once every three years or so... therefore I do not care about the price difference between different variants of the SAME PHONE.
[deleted post]No, 8GB RAM and 512GB storage is not a gimmick, this will come in handy for power users & this phone is made for them.
32gb base storage is not enough & I'm glad I went for 64gb on this S6.
128gb is a sensible base storage for 'normal' users on this phone.
64gb models are available on the S9+.
Anonymous, 21 Aug 2018Note 9 feels awful in the hand compared to Note 8.. Note 8 is more sleek and and beautiful imo... moreJust wait a bit more or buy online.
I can currently get a Note8 DS for 435 GBP so around 4662 NOK & that is 482 EUR.
After jack video this phone is total waste of money.
Samsung once again showed they dont care about in build quality just value the sales.
Same like note 7.

AnonD-241270, 21 Aug 2018WHEN THIS SH*T WILL END?! I MEAN, PEOPLE SHOULD THINK WITH BRAIN AND NOT WITH SOCIAL STATUS.
... moreListen pal because here's the inside scoop.
Nobody truly thinks these phones are over priced. If they did, they would vote with their wallets and walk away. The cold shoulder BB/TLC are getting with their high prices and poor efforts, tells you that the market does not accept high prices without justification. The harsh drop in sales of the iPhone in 18 speaks volumes. People are not just blindly upgrading. People hang onto their own phones for longer. Yes. This phone will drop in maybe 6 months time, but we'll then be 6 months away from another note and then what? Oh I'll just jump in my time machine shall I and grab that phone? Over 2 years, the price is fair and if you find the right deal on carriers, there are bargains to find. Unlike on iPhones where there's nowhere to run and no chance at all from grabbing a bargain. The experiences are comparable imo.
X41, 21 Aug 2018Redmi 5 clock at what speed and and note 9 at what speed?
you expect same battery performance... moreI agree 100%. Born whiners. Always freaking whinging. Never happy. Never thankful.
I reckon even if Samsung priced it at $899 like it it is in the UK, £899 or $700 you'll have people crying even with the brilliant upgrade offers floating around. Its completely and totally stupid.
Samsung for me, hit it out of the park. The updates this thing will get and they will prioritise the big daddy of their flagships which is the Note series. Always has been and always will be. The camera will get better and better, the battery life will get better, the UI will get better as Samsung experiment with pie. XEETHCARE on YouTube has showed off some features that could be in the finished version of Pie. That said, honestly...what are we missing on this phone with Oreo that Pie has? Android has matured and Samsung do it big and better than anyone. They've actually listen to consumers after the fiasco with the Note 7 and issues with placement on the fingerprint scanner. How can we as consumers, not respect that!? Better than freaking Crapple. I'm so glad to be going back to Android and moving my iPhone X onwards. Unfinished and not good enough for £1000. Goodbye and good riddance Apple. You've lost the plot.

unsure if it's the same in all regions, but in Aus all pre-orders are getting a free upgrade to the 512gb/8gb variant - may be causing the numbers to inflate
That will happen when one of the pre-order bonuses is getting the 512GB for the 128GB price.

Also the phone does nothing revolutionary.
It does not eliminate the bezels if anything they are bigger than its predecessor. Meaning still a needlessly big device. It does nothing about battery life, if anything the series regressed over time (would have hot swappable back eliminate chargers altogether.
The only things that steadily increases on this series is its price. It's a good phone, don't take me wrong, but it does nothing revolutionary.
Contrast with iPhone X. First to use secure passive biometrics, first to replace bezels with boarders, 50% more battery than any iPhone of its size. It was ajump, it tried some new things.
Note series abandoned some of its good ideas, and hasn't developed new ones. IMO of is a stark contrast.
10GB and 1TB would sell for 1999€ easy too, cuz people who buy galaxy notes don't care about price unless it's cosmic high ;)
[deleted post]Just like how the LG G6 is good for you, the Note 9 would be perfect for others. Is it overpriced? Yeah. But is it a kickass phone? Also yes.
