A earlier release will not help until they don't sort out the issues that plague this ecosystem. Bixby, an age-old design, not aesthetic and no innovation in terms of software. It's like Sammy is hardly trying anymore. Gone are the glory days of the Note 4 and 5.

I live in Brazil and I didn't see any Samsung Galaxy S9 or S9 Plus in people's hands, I travel recently to Chile and I see only there six Galaxy S9 Plus.

Samsung sells less because mid tier phones are becoming increasingly more popular because they can also roll with the big boys now. Then again the S9(+) its battery issues HAVE been fixed, so please all ignore the trolls and their fake news.

When the S8 Plus turned out to be so popular then release a new version that looks exactly the same,people are now growing up about there incomes and what phone they really need,then S9 plus might have offered updates in certain areas,but Why?did Samsung over value the S9 plus,seemed to be a wrong idea,Samsung just thinks they are like Apple and are thinking anything the produce it will be successful,but there are now better Budget phones in the market,that pleases consumers more than supposed to be Premium phones,2018 will be year were less phones will be sold,because they are getting more expensive every year,so consumers are staying loyal to the phones they have got use to,Sim contracts are a lot cheaper than phone contracts

Samsung needs to... moreJust for the sake of 4000 mAh battery so many people are looking forward to upgrade. But is it worth it!!!!! this question is very much puzzling as S10 might see a complete re-design (too much to ignore for long time samsung users atleast) and currently there are many alternatives with quality but at the same time, much cheaper in the market.

Search the internet about how android os works, read, re-read especially how marshmallow and up works and you will definitely have some idea at the end. For instance, It has to understand the user's usage behavior, Doze mode to take effect as per apps and settings over time and so on. In samsung, it takes longest time to settle due to their own software customization, modifications and extra huge chunk of features implemented. Im not here to entertain you so do your own homework.

The S9/S9+ failed to sell much because it was a poor upgrade from the S8/S8+. Samsung needs to realize people expect & desire big changes in their smartphones every year. Otherwise they skip the upgrade or choose a rival product if it attracts them more.

What was Samsung expecting, magic?. They ignorantly designed all their flagship devices to look similar and equally bum it up with high price tags over minor hardware upgrades then expect such devices to fly in our present smartphone competitive market. Even the Note 9 won't sell as well except they decide to slice off those ridiculous price tags
