I've not checked S8 for android P.
Future OS updates will be easier & more timely because of Project Treble.

I don't want to compare it to Google Pixel but just compare to a small company like OnePlus. anyhow they manage to release updates way faster than giants like Samsung, LG, SONY, HTC and etc. even a 2-3 Years old OnePlus 3 and 3T gonna get Android P after some months but I bet you S8 will get Android P sometimes in 2.Q or 3.Q of 2019 and that's what keeps me away from Samsung. I Will stick to Pixel, OnePlus or NOKIA because of clean Android and fast and long-term updates.

Well, people don't live in the lakes, ponds and oceans and don't sleep under the rain.So 6 months with the latest SoCs, fast UI is a smart move for the people who love to take that route for almost half the price u know.

Vashi, 26 Jul 2018S9 is a very very nice phone & nice cammera. Yes, dude. Nice phone, nice camera and at this time good price but not fair yet. But Samsung can't add an extra camera to S8 and sell it as S9 without any other changes. In the first step they must go for their horrible software. way-way too slow updates and mostly buggy for a long time, the OS is kinda sloppy and slow. the second step is diversity, S9 looks exactly like S8 I think they just did cut the camera holder from the S8 case and did sell it as S9. and then it comes to innovation, Samsung was really good in innovation but for real they are very lazy these days. hopefully, they will fix these problems with S10 cause I believe NOTE 9 will be a fail like S9.

Back to the Note 9 S9/+ Subject:
I'm not suprised sales have been below par.
I've been trying to get the S9+ 128gb at a decent price.
I was ready to get it from amazon @ £769 bundled with free AKG Y50BT Bluetooth headphones, I went to a festival couldn't get comm's, got comm's back after festival in time for 'Prime Day', price had gone back up to £839 with no headphones.
Similarly on Samsung's website price dropped to £799 & bounced back up to £869.
Other Trusted Sources same situation.
It's on IT Supplier @ £703.95
& ebay @ £639.69, but I don't want the hassle if anything is wrong.
I might as well wait to see the Note 9 & price & details of the S10+ & Note 10, but yeah now I'll also be checking out the rest of the competition except for apple :)
Bob007, 26 Jul 2018They are just switching to budget phones and it's much affordable to do every year Both of you are correct. Nowdays I have noticed mainly 3 types of smartphone users: The ones tha buy the latest and greatest most expensive ones (S9/N9, XZ2, ipX etc) and replace theor handset every 2-3 years, the ones that buy cheaper chinese brands but still have the latest (1+, Xiaomi etc) and change every year (cost is the almost the same as the first kind), and the ones that don't give a **ck and just buy a cheap Chinese brand to satisfy just their communication needs and no more.
Vashi, 26 Jul 2018S9 is a very very nice phone & nice cammera. That explains the sales, right?
And they thing they're going to do better with Note 9? Ha ha, not a chance..

doc doc global, 26 Jul 2018samsung not selling well coz high costs ...simple basics ..Agree, each and every year the price goes up significantly, not to mention previous year models are still priced high despite their successors are already in the market.
We reached the point when they are really overpriced. I could afford it but I will not buy them on that rip-off price.
