Quite bizarre really Samsung are the king of smartphone screens. But LG OLED TVs dominate. And are on another level compared to rest of the world.

Samsung's amoled are best smartphone screens on a planet, no wonder they dominating. LG poled it's just not up to competition

My old 2011 Samsung Galaxy Nexus used OLED and had the same crazy blueshift occuring on today's LG POLED panels (I had a Pixel 2 XL, so I compared the two).

Samsung made huge strides over the next few years. Let's hope LG can do the same. It should only take them 1-2 years if we track, say, the S4 and Note 4 OLED quality, which are both better than current LG V series OLED. So... patience everyone?

its not just the OLED screens that let LG down its their poor marketing strategy, Really slow releases around the world. And although they make some amazing phones like the gorgeous V30 i dont think they are seen as a top brand player, more a middle brand so people are put off when they are asking a high premium for there latest flagship phones.

Anonymous, 25 Jul 2018G Flex series had oled. Issues found on V30/Pixel 2 XL were same of G Flex/ Flex 2I forget to add for the G flex and V30 and the Pixel. Those were normal issues with some units, not all of them. Because Samsung had their issues with their phones.

Issues found on V30/Pixel 2 XL were same of G Flex/ Flex 2Look the OLED seems prefect except for 1 issue which is the burn in effect and the discolouration of the panel sometimes. Also it has a lower life span because it is the same the plasma TVs if you remember them. That's why they can't get higher nits or Quantum Dots.
If they fix that which I doubt they will fix it, then it will be a very good panel. But looking on how the companies are going Micro-LED and Mini-LED, I don't think so they will fix it.
That's why I said LCDs will use mini-LEDs as a backlit panel and some company said micro-LED can be used as a backlit panel. Also both can be self emissive displays like OLED

We cannot blame LG because they started last year so you cannot expect from them to suddenly compete Samsung who was making OLED smartphones panel for 10 years.
True if LG -Apple deal goes on, it will balance it or increase their OLED panel sales.
BOE also is looking for Apple and others actually to give them OLED panels.
JDI and JOLED also will mass produce next year so we can see from they start.
All those companies will compete Samsung and I know they will break Samsung's nose.
For the LCD, some companies are starting to do mini-LED backlit panels so the LCD will also become more powerful.

This is what happens when u accept a job which u cannot do .... they supplied those stupid dull P-OLED displays to pixel 2 Xls which blew everyone out. On top of that they had same dull displays on V30 .. what else u can expect LG
