Where all... moreWith cheaper data rates , smartphone users are growing ,but we tend to even use a old phone until its unusable or unrepairble ,5 million is nothing if you see the total population of India also sites like flipkart which sells redmi note 5 pro has good exchange offers for phones ,so people might exchange their note 4 or note 3 for note 5 pro at good price

Have the global version with Snapdragon 636. Overall I think it is very good value (I paid $200 plus $20 customs fee in the UK). However, as I suspected before purchase, I find the phone to be too tall to fit comfortably in my pockets, unless I am wearing a jacket.
I do wish there were at least some phones still released with the 16:9 aspect ratio. Xiaomi releases so many phones, why can't they have some in 16:9? Sigh.

Anonymous, 29 Jun 2018India has more than 1.3 Billions populations, so even 500 millions phone is a small number. ... more500 million is not small. If yearly waste is 500 million then how many is that in several years added together? Hundred billions! India dont even have many land to begin with its 1.3 billion people. With small land size and big waste doesnt sound so good to me. That havent include other electronic waste like you said tv, computers and other stuff. Even small island country like Japan made it compulsory to recycle all their waste to prevent environmental problem. Unless the country is as big as Russia. Indian should start being concerned about it now before its too late. As human we should worry shouldnt we?

So much purchase of sma... moreMore than being recycled ,phones are being Stolen and sold in black market ,see some people just want a phone with camera and music player ,you won't be surprised people still use old symbian based noKia phones which are probably stolen or thrown out

This might be my last mi phone ,mi is more focused on selling more phones than give updates ,I remember when I was using refmi note 3 ,I got regular updates ,but since mi A1 and note 5 pro ,the updates were slow and quite buggy ,it's laughable we are still stuck nogaaut when all 2018 phones are released with Oreo ,if I could afford I we would buy one plus next time ,done with Mi phones

This is rising my concerned on how India managed its electronic waste. So much purchase of smartphone every year but where does all the old phones goes? Millions of phone from a single brand. If we were to count other brands it must be hundreds of millions.

pl2rts, 28 Jun 2018This phone have some faults in it. Like you cant use face id if you dont have your region set ... moreI made a call and got my 1GB data changed to 15GB and have less to pay per month too now. So i dont need FM Radio anymore too.

This phone have some faults in it. Like you cant use face id if you dont have your region set to India. And FM Radio sounds cut off time to time for few seconds. I am listening FM Radio while going to work cause i dont have only 1GB data use per month. I will need to change my contract to some other carrier cause it's bs for 10 euro per month. My co worker have 5 euro per month and unlimited data and calls. I have 5 for unlimited calls and 5 for only 1GB data.
If i get more data i dont care about the FM Radio anymore and listen it online.
