Let me tell you, I used to use a LG G4 and now using a Redmi 5 Plus. The latter has a 1080P display, and only my super nitpicking habbit can tell some differences. 2K and 1080P are virtually identical to the standard human eyes.
4K though would make such difference. Not in pixels per inch measurements, but in the overall picture quality, where high-resolution images can easily get justified by the high-resolution screen.
How about being able to watch your 4K videos in their native resolution? How 'bout that??

You know it was my initial thought that 6" 1080P screens would look kinda fuzzy due to the screen estate, but turns out it was just fine.
At least 4K is enough to make the difference. Not in the pixels per inch, but in the overall picture quality (sharper pictures, which means high-resolution images can make great use of the screen).

AnonD-436505, 19 Jun 2018You would say that until Samsung or Apple do it huh?Go check my comment history. I've continuously bashed Samsung & Apple for their individual problems. I'm not a fanboy. I'm a consumer. I judge products based on their pros and cons rather than what brand they're from.
Just to clarify. I'm not saying companies should stop putting 1080P or 2160P displays on phones. I'm just saying 1440P displays are the most ideal for putting on flagship phones for the reasons i stated previously. That's all.

QHD is far better than FHD in term of picture quality. I can easily tell them apart. If you can't, you need to get your eyes checked ASAP.
FHD gives slightly better battery life, but not enough to justify downgrading the display resolution for it.
4K display on the other hand is overkill though, on phones that is. 4K displays would be ideal for tablets.

QHD is useless. No content is recorded 1440p, TVs dont use 1440p.
It is only used because crappy pentile that needs higher res than rgb matrix.
