Like Symbian or Windows in phones.
Like to say they gave it a try and failed thus no more of these gadgets.
But companies will try to make own like huawei did with its own Huawei shop instead of google play where the new P20 line are first which can use this.
Companies will be self-sufficient in the future making everything own without needed of other companies. Huawei is close by Samsung and Apple follows.

Android 6 is different to android 7 which is different to android 8. Also there is more than just android and IOS, Microsoft are still hanging in there. Symbian is still around and Firefox is up and coming. Processors you've got SD, Mediatek, Kirin (as u mentioned), nvidia, exynos, intel. the point being everything looks the same externally these days.

izat, 17 Jun 2018how about if sony make Play Station OS for smartphone? The XMB is good for what it is. But to develop a whole new OS is going to lose them way to many customers as opposed to remaining with android. Not to mention the time, research, money and QA that would go into creating a new Mass produced OS. they'd be better off creating a free PS skin with the option to download and use as opposed to forcing it as some people may not like the XMB but like the phones.

I hope Sony don't share the new launcher on Google play store. The quality apps should be exclusive for Xperia user and definitely not for Xperia hater, hater should hate more and even more to show envy, thanks.

well its about time ! they should have changed it a long time ago or they could have some sort of deal with NOVA Launcher . (just like razer phone)
