For the average dude 2-6 cores is fine.

If you watch delid TR1 video of der8auer you will know it's the same as EPYC. The different is TR1 only have 2 real dies that can function and another 2 dies are just dummy to spread pressure from cooler. TR and EPYC also have the same pins and the same socket but different name. Many speculate that EPYC probably could run on TR motherboard with just micro code update. EPYC2 also skip 12nm and got update to 7nm the highest probably come with 64 cores.
Those chips are server grade CPU, very efficient, with IHS that big cooling 250W is pretty easy. For example The Noctua air cooler for TR1 rated at 250W, the Enermax AIO water cooler rated at 500W and the new TR2 air cooler rated at 400W.
Stability issues? There's no way TR gonna have any stability issues. The ones that may have stability issues are Intel's chips that still using monolith design and toothpaste. Not to mention how power hungry and hot they are.

My PC is already 7 years old and I'll replace it if it's dying, and still it's running outstanding until now.

I was expect 24 cores max for the refresh TR but somehow AMD just go all out with 32 cores. This just make me drool. But still I will wait and see mainstream desktop Zen 2. Its probably gonna get 12 cores. Which is perfect for me.

This monster is not for me, 8 cores version is just fine, but to those that needs a lot of prosessing power, this is a good news. Definitely will be cheaper that what is available at this moment.

That's a lot of cores, and large cores.
Not like the Intel Xeon Phi which has a similar high number of cores, but they're all small-Atom cores. It's like having an Android PC with x32 core Cortex A72's... maybe its not as efficient as Cortex A75, but its certainly better than having x32 cores of Cortex A35's.
Sounds like a good and cheap solution to build and host your own private Internet/Cloud/Server... maybe even run your Smart Home through it.
