Predictive memorys, 29 May 2018I want to know how the HTC designer/CEO explain why they ditch 3.5mm jack. They already did on previous models, in line with the industry
Why should the 12+ be any different? Buy one if you need it, it's not the end of the world and doesn't need CEO justification
Shanti Dope, 29 May 2018They will, huh??

There, happy now?
I pre-order the U12+ from HTC Club (Europe) and knowing this "USB-C to 3.5 jack" adapter would be missing, I added it to my cart. It was saved for 0€ !
In my pre-order bill, I have a "reduction" entry of the adapter price. Don't know if I was lucky or what, but thanks HTC ! ^^
PeterThePanda, 29 May 2018Don't worry, Apple will likely not be including an adaptor on the next iPhone, so you don't ne... moreGood thing their including fast chargers for iPhones! (I hope so) -_-
I m one of the big fan of htc and it's around quality... And I do appreciate their efforts with u sonic..... But i don't like removing 3.5 jack....i will still buy it only if it has at least 95 to 100 hrs battery endurance in gsma and other reviews....u have to make something up for what u have away taken htc...
AnonD-712539, 29 May 2018I don't care about not having headphone jack, but not having an adapter is ridiculous. I pre orders a u12+ and on the order sheet it does say that there will be an adapter. so it better be one.
HTC just keeps going lower and lower.
I remember when they had over two dozen phones a year, with different variants for different countries and different carriers... on top of many accessories and software services. They were pretty much leaders of the industry from the days of the HTC TyTN to the HTC One M8-WP8.
I guess we were all right and the directors were wrong. They probably would've had much more success if HTC had a single phone like OnePlus. Or maybe upto three; a flagship, a Plus model, and a Moto G alternative.
I don't care about not having headphone jack, but not having an adapter is ridiculous.
Anonymous, 29 May 2018If you added wireless charging and a bigger battery (3800 mah) then this would be forgiven. Bu... moreBigger battery doesn't necessarily mean better battery life. The U11+ had 3900 vs 3000 on the U11 and endurance didn't really improve.
Optimisation is more important than size
Anonymous, 29 May 2018Stop acting like kids. Your constant rant ove ther lack of 3.5mm jack won't bring them back.
... moreThat's just another way of saying jack-less phones are fine. They're not.
OEMs should be pressured to remove such useful features, and I hope that every OEM that decides to remove something useful will decline, but in a good way, I want them to learn their lesson and do better in the next generations.
HTC removing the jack is already a disaster to begin with, but not even having the option to use 3.5mm headphones is the doorway to death.
No, USonic earbuds don't make up for it. Samsung has a great-sounding AKG earbuds worth $100 that's present in every Samsung high end phones since S8. And their phones still have both 3.5mm jack and USB C port which I do believe can also be used as headphone jack.
I could hardly name anything to pick up this average flagship over something from a customer-friendly and very popular & reputable brand.
Maybe if you hate curved edges like I do. But that's easier to have since it doesn't take anything away.
Well its not 100% true. I ordered on here in Sweden and on the order its and usb-c headset adapter 3,5mm included.
phone 7731 sek and adapter 0 sek extra charger 3,0 119sek.

Next generation iPhones should have a rumour about that at this point of time.
Give me 1 reliable proof that they're indeed going to do it, and I'll change my mind. No joke.
Show companies their folly by NOT buying these phones. Let these mindless apple followers understand that the 3.5 mm jack IS important.
Exercise your power as a consumer through your wallet!
Marko, 29 May 2018Who is CEO in HTC? Main actor from "Dumb and dumber"?Mrs. Cher Wang.
I don't give a fly about the sound quality: NO 3.5mm jack => NO BUY! Same goes for Sony. And I'm a Sony user and fan.
I guess I'm jumping boats to Samsung..

HTC will have it's final year in 2018 , no strategy no sense and no sales it's falling and ground ain't far away at all
Anonymous, 29 May 2018Not a minor issue for me since my car stereo needs the jack too, and i need to be able to char... moreWell, I guess you can buy one more adapter for your car, perhaps even one that allows charging and listening at the same time. However I have to point out that this issue is caused by poor battery life first of all. And choosing between a phone with jack and poor battery life and a phone without jack and with decent battery life I'd surely choose the latter.
And yep, that's exactly my point: when there are lots of flaws combined, a phone sucks. But if there are just one or two, it's okay. I wouldn't deprive myself of an otherwise perfect phone just because it has a notch or doesn't have a minijack.
Great.. another phone to eliminate from my list of potential new phones for purchase.
Only Samsung, LG and Oneplus are worth the money. The apple copiers who have removed the 3.5 mm jack will not get my business.
I am expecting this is like the SD card trend a couple of years ago, with many predicting a die-out. But that hasn't happened, in fact the opposite is being seen. More and more phones are coming with SD card slots again. Its been proven time and again through polls and surveys that a majority (60% plus) consumers care about the 3.5 MM jack enough to not buy jack-less phones.
Companies that listen to their consumers will continue providing it and will hopefully rewarded through increased sales.
So sad that the 3.5 mm issue crops up in every review these days. HTC, Sony, Xiaomi, Huawei etc etc have all blindly followed Apple and removed an essential feature. We are going back to the early 2000s where phones had proprietary earphones which would not work with anything else.
