This is why if every smartphone this year disappoints me, I will happily buy an XZ1. It's guaranteed two updates. To P and Q and came with Oreo out of the box.

well my Xperia XA (F3112, dual sim) has not seen any update since May 2017 security update.

They don't play fool with android update.
I respect that. But never mind giving them a try because Xperia UI behaviour of modifying icons is not eye-friendly.

Was galaxy heavy user until I found xperia z series and motorola, which bring innovation not just new SoC & camera,

Just got my update on my Xperia X,and no,Sony does not play around with slow updates.Samsung does though.When I was ready to trade in my S8 for the pre-order S9,it still didn't have Oreo!!
