Consumers want competition - but for little guys like Nokia, this is beneficial from their perspective. Honestly, none of them can generally be bothered to offer here in Canada anyway, so I'm somewhat indifferent as to their success or failure, but you should consider the perspective and intent of the message - it wasn't written from a consumer POV.

Suffice it to say I am no fonder of the Saudis than I am the Iranians, but ZTE's sin here is in relation to Iran, hence the mention.

It was shortsighted by ZTE to sell to Iran while they rely on the US so much. Regardless if you agree with the ban or not, they should have expected it.

Less competition.You meant that as Chinese phone companies are getting banned by US, they are sacrificing their own chance by giving Nokia a second chance to do sell well in US. What a grave mistake US, you are letting Nokia to dominate over Apple in a few years time before 2024.
