S8 was a dumpster fire by comparison. I expect s9 to be even worse. Samsung would soon not be relevant. Easily the next blackberry/nokia the way she is going.
Just 10 years ago she was boss ... sad to see her go.

Very different story.
Iphone X changed *everything* and still didnt sell (kind of a shock really). S9 is basically s8 with updated soc and camera. They didnt even bother to update the twon things that matter the most (ram, battery), the two that held its predecessor back.
It's a bad phone and is being punished by the crowd. Nobody is paying $800 for a 4gb (everloading) 3000 mah (doesnt last the day in modern use) phone. Only the strictest of fanboys.

That's where Samsung fell, even in their own home market where they always brag record sales. Oh yes Asian manufacturers except maybe Sony brag a lot about their sales. Every Chinese manufacturer does and same goes for Koreans.

Huh! Who will buy Samsung galaxy s9 ? It has an optical image stabalizer...but still unable to to down shutter speed below 1/10 during low light photo shooting...My iPhone 8 able to lower its shutter speed 1/4 during hand held low light photo shooting without any blurry shot

#SayNoToNotchI'll laugh my ass off when Samsung starts releasing their notched phones soon. They already submitted patents for them. It's only a matter of time before Samsung notched phones are out & about. I hope you'll stick by your word & refuse to buy them otherwise you'll make a nice hypocrite out of yourself. Cheers. ;)
The same thing applies to headphone jack too. Almost everyone has abandoned it, and soon Samsung & the rest will too.
The thing is that technologies will keep evolving over time. Those who are quick to adapt will live in harmony while those that are are slow to accept will have to suffer. ;)

Obvious ...
1) Screen is 8-bit only with pentile matrix. Should be 10-bit RGB.
2) Bokeh is worse than other phones with telephoto
3) variable aperture was seen on Nokia years ago, nothing new
4) 960fps in HD , even with more DRAM than XZ2
5) bad GPU inside exynos version
6) losing speed tests against S835 devices
Note 8 minus S-Pen ( hardware/software) plus f1.5/f2.4 = S9+

For me, it was expected for s9/+ to decline. Apart from double aperture, the s9/+ just brings copy-pasted features, marginally better than s8/+, no flat screen variant (yeah s8 duo already had worse sales compared to s7/edge duo), gigantic size,further discriminating the smaller one and more.
Stop being overconfident to charge $$$$ while you play it safely just because you're the market leader! Innovate more or else you will end up to be a dethroned king 2.0! Just remember Xiaomi already takes the lead in big market like India, Huawei does it too in the equally big market, China. It's about time to dethrone if you don't "Re-Imagine" what innovations a company can do!

Fortunately, Samsung diversified it's business across sectors, products, industries. If iPhone sells well, then Samsung makes good money in display,memory, processor etc...
Samsung doesn't worry like Apple when it's earnings drop or increase!
They even went ahead recalled their flagship product yet consistently posting earnings beating the forecasts! No company in the world does that! Unfortunately, Korea's(Chinese & some extent Japanese) are NOT loud mouthed brats like we see in other places.

Anonymous, 01 May 2018I honestly love the way when it was Apples IPhone X that dropped everyone was slagging off App... moreThe difference is, the S9/+ isn't a totally new galaxy over its predecessor S8/+, whereas the iPhone X is literally the first iPhone of its kind.
One of the reasons for iPhone X's low sales is its price tag. People are holding on to their older ones for longer.
it was initially expected it to break sales records, which it didn’t.
The reason for S9's low sales is that the S8 is already the big upgrade that Samsung planned.
